Hi Jack
We were vacationing in the area and wanted something really fresh and healthy. We don’t always eat our best on vacation so we were craving lots of fresh veggies. We ordered the classic Greek salad with grilled chicken and the great Greek rice bowl with grilled steak. Everything was so delicious, fresh, crispy. Flavor was great. Portions were huge. Streak was cooked perfectly and tender. Everything was top notch. Staff was super courteous! Place was very clean including the restrooms. Would eat here all the time if I lived here. Enjoy!!!

This is the BEST GREEK FOOD we’ve ever had! We were traveling through Bend and stopped in on a Monday night. We ordered ahead (not knowing what the table situation would be) and ate in our car. It was fresh, delightful, and messy as we inhaled our gyros. We ran back inside to wash our hands (in their very clean bathrooms) and personally thank the staff for the best Greek food ever! Fast forward 6 days driving back through Bend and we were so excited to have the opportunity to have their gyros again for lunch! This time we ate in the shop, at one of their 15 tables, and it was perfect. The staff are so incredibly kind and genuine. The food was fresh, tasty, and satisfied us both times. The portions are very generous too. Highly recommend the chicken gyro, and the gyro meat/lamb gyro. The prices are completely worth the high quality ingredients and portion size. Obviously fast food is cheaper, but you get what you pay for…

The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill is our new “go-to” when we travel through Bend, and can’t wait to stop by again! Thank you for the full tummies!!

The picture is the spanikopita (it looked nice, but the inside, not so much). Super dry and the spinach was crunchy too, which tells me this is fairly old. We won’t eat it. The lamb gyros are good. Admittedly, we were exhausted and ordered delivery even though we live close by. Maybe dine-in is fresher? Hard to say. We probably won’t go here or order out again. But for anyone else, it might be worth a shot!
Oh boy. Above is my original review but 15 min later, I’m trying the soggy baklava… it’s clear that nothing is fresh here. I’ve left very few reviews for places, but with how expensive things are these days, especially in Bend, I feel obligated to say: don’t eat here. The experience gets progressively worse.

PEBBLES APPROVED! (See photo caption)

EXPERIENCE – While not an authentic flavor to me (and I’m no expert) we both enjoyed the meal. The lady had the beef/steak protein which was good but could have used seasoning, and I had the kebab style plate. I feel strongly that you should get a few diced onions and some lettuce- them it’d have all the elements of a deconstruction for a couple of cents more of cost.

Got a large salad with chicken breast. Good salad, chicken breast was a bit dry but grilled chicken can be.

The falafel I received vs. what they advertise. I would share a photo and review of the burger I ordered for dinner, but unfortunately the staff failed to include it in my delivery.

My husband got a big classic gyro that he liked and I got a vegetarian falafel wrap that was delicious. Sometimes falafel is too dry but not this one! Kay was extremely nice and made our ordering experience very pleasant.

We’ve been here twice now and both times the food has been phenomenal. The service is great and it is a clean and open space. I highly recommend the falafel sandwich and the melitzanosalata dip app.

When we walked in I realized this was a “fast food” restaurant and the food met my expectations.
Not bad but not a real Greek restaurant. If you want “Greek style” fast food your expectations will be met. Better than burgers, however.

The first time I tried The Great Greek, I was excited, but my experience was disappointing. The girl who took my order was extremely rude, and the Gyro I ordered was disappointing—flavorless and poorly assembled, falling apart almost immediately and consisting mostly of lettuce.

I decided to give them another chance several months later. This time, I opted for a rice bowl with chicken. The price tag was surprising—$13.99 for a bowl without meat, and an additional $6.99 to add chicken, bringing the total to a hefty $21… for a fast food rice bowl.

I hoped the taste would justify the cost, but that wasn’t the case. When I opened my takeout container, I was greeted with what was essentially a dry salad. The bowl was nearly all romaine lettuce, with barely any rice. The $6.99 worth of chicken? A small skewer with five tiny pieces. The toppings were sparse and uninspiring, and there was no sauce to tie the dish together.

I wanted to like The Great Greek, but after two disappointing experiences, I can’t justify giving them another try. The food is overpriced and lacks the quality you’d expect for the cost. If you love Greek food, Do yourself favor and go to Kefi Fresh Mediterranean on the north end of Bend instead. Fast service, friendly people and you can get a rice bowl WITH meat, customizable toppings and a ton of flavor for only $14.50.
