I love hanging out here. I only gave 3 stars because there service is horrible..and not that there employees are rude – they are actually very nice and friendly but the wait for food on any given “event day” is just not worth it. Ive even waited in a line 20 people deep just to buy a beer when more than half those people were trying to pay out their tab. Surely they can come up with a better system! Otherwise this place is almost always a stop on the bike trail.

For bike riders, this is a great place to grab a drink before heading on the trail again. Located along the river, they have fun outdoor activities, picnic tables with umbrellas, and also cater to bikers. Fun stop!

Can’t go wrong here at Captain Roy’s. Just a fun spot to stop along the Ike trail. We almost always stop for a drink and they always have cold water outside for the bikers.

First time earing here. Road trip from Wisconsin to Colorado. Stopped to eat and was extremely satisfied with the food. Shredded chicken burrito bowl and a fresh turkey and bacon sandwich. Great atmosphere and trivia on tuesdays.

If you are looking for a kid friendly, dog friendly, or just a vibe friendly place, this is it! I’ve been frequently here in the summer and have never had a bad experience. Always fast and attentive staff even when they are packed. We love it here. Also their curly fries and bacon cheddar cheese burgers are my kids favorite .

The outdoor setup is very casual and open. The canopies outside are a nice touch and provide extra shade during the hot summer months. A pontoon boat turned into a music stage is setup for bands to play, also outside, set up right next to the water at the entrance to the small Birdland Marina. The indoor bar itself is small but with the amount of room outside it really doesn’t matter. A full bar inside with a nice selection of familiar domestic beers and regional microbrews.
