At our Myrtle Beach, SC location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

This is the best Captain D’s to choose from at the beach. I went here yesterday with my 7 mo old child and my mother, to celebrate her birthday. My mom has loved Captain D’s forever so this was something nice to do for her since she’s disabled and can’t drive anywhere. Upon entering the restaurant, I noticed the cashier was very friendly to the people ahead of us, unlike the other Captain D’s off Kings HWY. When it came our turn to order, she was very polite and didn’t rush us. Once our order was placed, I tried to find a booth as far away as possible from other diners, as to not disturb them with my baby (he was cranky from being woke up from his nap). The food came incredibly fast and the lady who brought our food who I assume is the store manager, was very kind to us. We were checked on several times by the employee’s to make sure everything was fine. Very very pleasant experience. The whole place was tidy, neat, and I couldn’t believe there was actual silverware being used here! Food was cooked perfectly and well portioned. We will definitely be coming back in the future!

This is the WORST location of Captain Ds. I would NEVER recommend this restaurant. Forgot half of my order. Even asked manager if everything was in the bag. She lied with a smiling face. I believe they are overwhelmed and take it out on customers orders. I wasn’t the only one that had to go back and get what they ordered. Terrible management skills and it shows in the employees. Never be back. They don’t even deserve a one star but I had to leave a review so others will not be taken advantage of again. Don’t waste your time or money here.

Great food. Decent prices. Natasha, who works at the counter, always goes out of her way to ensure guest satisfaction. She is made for hospitality. Great personality. All other staff we’ve encountered are pleasant but she stood out above the rest.

I come here ever so often when I’m tired or the surrounding fast food for lunch. love the staff here. It’s crazy how well you get to know the workers who prepare your food just from so many frequent visits. You become a norm in there eyes to where you dont even have to order most days .Gives that little bit of peace and mind about the food your gonna be eating, knowing that you can trust the ones preparing your meal.

Food was great as usual but what happened to the cracklins? That was one of my favorite things those crumbling bits of fried batter and there were none on my plate. Service was really great especially when the ice dispenser broke off a piece and was raining ice. The gentleman that took our order came right out to rescue me. Captain D’s was my very first job as a teenager and the food is still great but I’ll remember to ask for a basket of cracklins next time.

I’ve been avoiding fast food lately because nothing seemed to be tasting good, but this was a great experience. The prices were incredibly good and the food was even better. The staff was friendly and I didn’t have to wait long for my food. They even bring the food to your table! I will be back here soon. Great place!

I really like Capt D’s… Good food but VERY high prices for fast food and for what you get. Here at the beach you can get fresh seafood in a restaurant for about the same price. With that said, it is convenient and the food is really good, but don’t go without a coupon. Also, service is usually good also.

Drive thru only was open but my dinner was great. They make the best fish and hushpuppies. Always a good place for a quick and great meal. The cashier was very nice. I recommend anyone that likes a reasonably priced fish dinner to try it. Yummy!
