At our Seymour, IN location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

I ordered delivery through DoorDash. They didn’t tell the dasher they were out of gumbo. The bag wasn’t sealed and was clearly underweight, so he should’ve noticed that there was no gumbo inside and mentioned it to them. Instead, my order was dropped off and I discovered not only that I had no gumbo and no change in my total, but also, I paid almost $10 for about 6 ounces of mac and cheese. Those 3 or so ounce cups are $4.59 each. Rip-off.

Worst captain D’s experience ever. The cashier was rude. The food was quite small for the price. The malt vinegar tasted as if it had sit in the heat for mths without being changed out. The cashier only could say a few words like she was disgusted to have inside customers. When my order came up she conveniently couldn’t remember where it went. It was disgustingly hot as it was outside. No fans for the customers or the staff. The tables were dirty. There wasn’t much if any condiments out. The size of the fish was not much bigger than my 2 index fingers put together. The chicken was much smaller and for the price a drink should be included. Where I work at our air went out but definitely had a better outlook on the the situation and better attitudes. I definitely don’t recommend too bad ljs went out of business.

Place was empty and hardly anyone in the drive thru still had to wait forever to get our food and when we did the green beans were cold with old nasty bacon in them. The fries were cold and hard. The person taking orders was rude and more interested in laughing and joking with her friends that were just hanging out in the lobby. There was old food everywhere on the floor it looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. We will never come back!

The hush puppies , green beans and Mac cheese were great.The catfish and the chicken were not prepared right.They double fried them to warm them up and we were unable to eat them.If cooked right their fish is very good.The chicken is ok.
