At our Elizabethtown, KY location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

John provided some of the best customer service I’ve experienced in a long time at Captain D’s on Dixie Highway in Elizabethtown. He truly went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect, was extremely professional, friendly, and made me feel valued as a customer. His attitude, attention to detail, and willingness to help stood out and made the whole visit exceptional. Employees like John are the reason customers come back. He is a real asset to this location and deserves recognition for the outstanding job he does every day. ⭐

Ordered fish fries and slaw. Everything was absolutely horrible. Slaw was nasty fries was fresh but some how hard and they have changed their fish never seen it shaped like that? Had a very bad after taste. Hated that i had to open ketchup packs instead of having dispenser. Also tarter sauce was in Cups instead of dispenser. Had very bad taste.The restaurant was extremely dirty. The back of the seats was stained very badly. Trash overflowing. Floors was dirty. Scared to even go to the bathroom. Tables not clean. No lids for drinks. People not very helpful or friendly. And there was very few people they was not busy at all. We was the only ones in line. Sorry to say they definitely are not as good as they use to be. I have never been a big fan anyway but my wife loved the place. She was very disappointed. Do not recommend this place will never go back.

This wasn’t a very good dining experience. The restaurant wasn’t very clean. The restroom wasn’t clean and urinal was broken and smelt very bad. Soap dispenser was broken and could not be used. I was thinking about the staff washing their hands before returning to their workstations and not able to use soap. I took the wrist that they had soap in the back in the kitchen and placed an order for me and my family and discovered the fish was undercooked. Very veiny and had a weird smell. I told the Manager on duty that I was very unpleased with today’s meal. She was nice enough to offer to cook more fish, but I told her no I did not want any more fish. There was no refund given for our orders/ 3 meals. Asking for to go take out boxes. I explain to the manager that I would not return, and this food would be given to our cats. Cat food! Very nasty. I feel that this establishment here will soon go out of business would not recommend.

Food is always good. Service this visit wasnt great. Lady did not listen. She had to ask 3 times what sauces I wanted and still left off 2 that were important. Gave over half my meal to a coworker because of this. I spend $15 on 1 meal and I should have been able to eat it. Unfortunately, that was not what happened since I was back at work once I realized she had failed to give me the necessary sauces.

The food was excellent but I have one complaint. When me and my wife were dining in we witnessed it appeared to be a manager running around the building and as we were in the dinning room he came through the front door running straight into the back. He looked like a blonde young man. As we were about to drive off from our meal we saw him again but he appeared to be wearing a jersey running out of the front door and around to the back again. The food was great but this childish odd behavior from it appeared to be a manager is un unacceptable. Food was very delicious though!!!!!

This place was completely disgusting. The dining area was very filthy and needed a good cleaning and no employee attempted to clean it. Atmosphere is a big zero! No employee greeted you, we said we were eating there so they decided to pack it up, ice machine needed ice and when I asked I was looked at like I was stupid. Sauces were completely empty, hardly no paper towels and the drinking area was nasty. NEVER going back!!

Awesome staff, very quick with getting hot fresh food out. Older restaurant that could do some update but all in all will eat there again anytime I’m in the mood. I suggest you do the same

The only ones in the restaurant for dinner, our food came out cold, drinks machine didn’t have proper carbonation, tea tasted like chemicals. Trash are was a nasty mess, floor was so gross. Cashier was wearing a tank-top and hoodie as if they just crawled out of bed. Will not be coming back, they should really close this place down if they can’t do any better.

I love love love the country style fish and okra, and always get the breadstick instead of the huspuppies you gotta try it. Only 5.99 for this meal.
