If possible, a negative amount of stars would be given. Waited forever in drive thru for 1, yes 1 vehicle to leave the window. This was due to them having a LONG conversation with whoever was working. Waited over 10 minutes AFTER I saw them get their food handed to them. Got home and found they gave me 2 starters and no cocktail sauce I asked for. Actually asked for a lot of starter and some cocktail. And also burnt food! I took pic for all to see the pride these people take in their work. Rubbery almost cold fish and burnt stuffed shells.
The owner responded to my review and asked me to go to website and report my experience. I did that before I got on here and rated them. Pretty funny how he didn’t bother to offer to replace my meal.

I just wanna give this place 5 stars because the lady at the cashier who I thank her name was Bobby Jean was so nice and respectful with a beautiful smile and she treated us with kindness. Something you do not get at most places these days. Weekend pulled off without our debit card and she came running out the store to get it back to us. 5 stars to this young lady and to Captain D’S for hiring her and great food! The only complaint I have is the tea is a little costly. Always great food at this location and great service! Thank you all! Please keep people like Bobby Jean at your restaurant. That’s the kind of people who make you feel at home. May God bless you all for all the hard work and im sure the individuals you have to deal with.

Shively D’s is back open! Thank goodness! I’ve been missing my fish and chips! New friendly faces and an amazing new manager! Definitely recommend coming to see the newly renovated restaurant! If it wasn’t so cold and snowy out, it definitely would have knocked my socks off!!

I understand the cooks trying to rush due to customers complaining BUT health and safety should be number 1 on the list. The fish was literally dropped long enough for the outside batter to get hard. The inside was ICE COLD and batter uncooked ♀️

We we’re doing doordash, got to the store at 9:25pm had two cars infront of us, they took forever to take their orders because they didnt wanted to take orders through the speakers and asked to order at the window. Well we waited 35 minutes to reach the window ourselves and told them the name of the person then she went to the back took around 5 more minutes and then came back and said that they were already closed and he needed to issue a refund, mind you it was 10:05pm when she said that, they knew we were in line waiting and the customer had already ordered his food and was supposed to be packed and ready before they closed, y’all service completely sucks, hire better employees and put some work getting orders faster than 20 mins per car. An “Oh sorry” ain’t enough and much less making people waste money on trash food and us losing money because your employees couldn’t get stuff done faster. 35 mins in line is ridiculous to not even get the food. DO BETTER, INSTEAD OF SAYING YOU’LL TAKE IT INTO CONSIDERATION AND DO BETTER NEXT TIME. Same excuses different days.

On Friday, January 17th, 2025, I went to Captain D’s at 3937 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, KY, 40216, and I had ordered the $8.49 fish meal and add on a piece of fish and an order of French fries. The employee that rung me up, rung me up incorrectly and overcharged me and once I got home, I realized that I was given a partially incorrect order and the food was very disappointing. I bit into the fish and it was pink, so I pulled it apart to see, and it was very slimy and wet.
I took my order back to the location to let them know what was wrong with my food and I told them that I simply wanted a refund, but the manager on shift claimed that she could not give me a refund and that I needed to write my name, phone number, and address on a piece of paper and that corporate would get back with me within a week. As of today, January 24th, 2025, it has been a week, and I have not heard back from anyone. I did not know that I had to go through extreme measures to simply get back $16.79. I simply wanted my money back! I feel stupid now for not demanding my money at that moment instead of waiting for someone to reach out. I don’t want a gift card for food, I want what I paid for. That simple, and I won’t be back.

Ordered two of the 2 piece fish and fries.one 2 piece and a quarter fries and 1 hushpuppy. And for the other a one piece fish and another quarter Fry and a hushpuppy. Try to get there attention at window and was ignored also tried to go in but doors was locked and couldn’t get in. So don’t go here horrible service and food portion. It was hot and fresh I give them that but would like to have what I pay for.

Stopped here to pick up a doordash and the experience was horrible before I even made it up to the counter. The person that looked like the manager I am guessing he is the manager by the way he dressed, was arguing with customers because they said their order was not right. Also, it was very smoky like they had burned something. It even smelled like burnt food

The food was pretty good around the time I went that day. I give the food a 4 out of 5. The green beans where a bit to watery, but was okay. The crab cake could have been a bit more fresh. The service was a touch bit below mediocre. I mean it wasn’t bad, but it was nothing spectacular about it. I went through the drive-through, and the girl just did her job. Nothing more, nothing less. She had no type of greeting or anything.
The service was pretty fast. The place has a parking lot, a nice size lobby, and a drive-thru as I noted earlier. The prices are pretty fair. You can usually find coupons in your junk mail most of the time. The location does seem convenient for wheelchair access. This is a good place to go for reasonable seafood if you’re not trying to spend a ton of money. Overall I give my experience a 3 and a 1/2 to 4 stars.
