At our Greenville, MS location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

This was a spur of the moment Saturday outing with my family. Captain D’s was very clean. The service we received was courteous, friendly & nice. The atmosphere was great! There were other people there, but they weren’t loud or noisy at all. A person could have a conversation with the people at the table, & you didn’t have to shout over anyone. The food was delicious & piping hot! Just the way you would want it to be. The waiter brought your food to your table & it didn’t take long once you placed your order. It was just a nice family restaurant. Thank you for making it a great day with my family.

Bad customer service. As soon as you order your food from the speaker. Once you arrive at the drive-thru window if they do not know you. You’ll be waiting a long time for your order the service here is slow and terrible. I hate coming here due to the humorous waiting time! Save yourself a trip and order from somewhere else.

Captain D’s is what it is and has been what it has been since I first started eating here in the 90s. The food is consistently average. I prefer the battered fish, but the fried catfish and country style fish are good as well. Typically, it’s fried too soft so I request that it’s fried crispy. The fried meals come with hush puppies but you can substitute for a breadstick (which is the most delicious breadstick I’ve ever tasted). I highly recommend trying the sweet tea. It’s perfect and also one of the best I’ve had. My only complaint here is that occasionally the fries and okra taste like the fish. I’m assuming that’s because they’re all being fried in the same grease.

The one working was favoring the drive-thru more than the front counter. She did a good job at both positions, but was rushed when we needed extra attention

Food is good. Waiting in drive through for 45 mins not yelling how much the total was after placing the order. Service was rude. There’s no need for this. Parking lot has no lights.

On August 19th 2025 at 3:00 p.m. I went to Captain D’s and I went to the drive thru to order something to eat. I noticed a woman asked me when I was at the place to place my order “hello, how can I help you today?” I tried to tell her what I wanted but she was rude and she interrupted me by saying “sir I cannot take your order right now.” I asked her “why is that?” She said “because I am busy with a customer, that’s why.” My relative was in the car with me and she told the woman what she wanted for her order and she was being rude and disrespectful to me and my relative. Then the woman told me to drive to the order window so I can pay for my order. I drove my car to the window to pay for my order. The woman had me waiting 7 minutes then the woman came to the order window and told me the total to my order. I gave her the money for the order and she told me to drive my car and stop my car in front of the restaurant. I drove my car and parked my car in front of the restaurant. They had me and my relative waiting in the car for almost 10 minutes and it was 100 degrees. It was so bad that it almost made us have a heat stroke in the car. It was so bad that the woman took her time and it seemed like she wanted me and relative to die in the heat. It was so bad that I had to go check my blood pressure on my blood pressure machine that was in the truck of my car and that is when the woman finally showed up with our food looking stupid and delusional. That is unprofessional and this Captain D’s needs to be closed down. I forgive them, I bless them, I wish them the best in their lives and I will eat and support Captain D’s anymore.

It’s Sunday afternoon and Captain D’s is never ready for Sunday Rush after Church. It’s “Pull over to the front please”. Took them 35 minutes to give us our food (After I got out my car to go in ) and then we find out, After getting home, the catfish we ordered is not Catfish!! taste awful!!!!
