At our Knoxville, TN location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

Maybe the worst place I have ever visited. The lady at the counter at 4:30 PM on 28 July will go down as the rudest most inconsiderate person I have ever dealt with. Rolling her eyes, smudging up her mouth when you speak and acting like she would rather you be anywhere else but there. She didn’t say hello or goodbye or anything. I said hello to her three different times and she just looked away. The food was pretty terrible and I was shocked because it took them 20 minutes to get it to me. Even though I was the only customer in the restaurant. I know now why I was the only customer in the restaurant it’s because they treat their customers like crap. I also got a bag to go even though I said I was going to eat it in the restaurant and inside the bag there were over 35 packages of tartar sauce, 16 packages of cocktail sauce, and close to 50 packets of ketchup. All of this for my two-piece fish dinner. If the owners are wondering why they are probably going to close the store down, it’s because you have the worst customer service in history and employees who don’t give a damn about your restaurant or your bottom line.

On SundayJan 25 at 10:45am, I was the only person in the drive through and not any customers in the store. I sat in the drive through line 20 minutes and didn’t get a thing. Finally asked for my money back and the manager got an attitude. Forget that place. Never again.

Husband went inside to order our dinner to bring home. He ordered me a double order popcorn shrimp because they never give you very much. I didn’t want any of their sides because I can’t have them or hate them. Instead of a dinner they gave him 2 add on popcorn shrimp which was only 12 tiny little pieces & it was $9. They also have changed the batter on it & was nasty. We will never go there again. Fair warning they are ripping people off.

This is a sorry excuse for a meal to charge people $50 for. Okra has no breading, the fish needs cooked longer, and these “strips” are nugget size. My work team always wants Long John Silver and I convince them you all are better…. You made a liar out of me today. These meals were thrown away they were so bad.

Visited on September 2nd in the afternoon. No one else inside and 2 cars in the drive thru. I stood at the counter about 30 sec. and a young lady came up, swiped a card thru the register and I thought I was about to be waited on. No, instead she put on a headset, another young lady from the cook area said that there were 2 in the drive thru and that she was going on break. The girl at the counter started looking into bags and saying she was lost. At this point it had already been about 3-4 minutes and no one had even acknowledged that I was there. Had someone said, “be with you in a moment” or something similar I would have probably waited, but no, it’s as if I were invisible. I have noticed in recent months that a lot of fast food establishments with a drive thru prioritize the drive thru over the dining room.

I’ve only been to this Captain D’s once before and received excellent service so I hope Monday’s experience is not to become the norm.

My sister & I ordered lunch today through GrubHub. Our driver got here fast & our food was hot. I haven’t eaten here in a while & was surprised how small the portions are now. As you can see in the picture. This was $15.88 plus an uncharge of $1.29 for the okra. No tarter sauce(I even called & asked for it), no silverware, and 1 napkin. The bag wasn’t even tied for safe delivery. It was good, though. My sister got the fish and shrimp(hers was missing a hushpuppy). It sure isn’t like it used to be, though. Don’t know if it’s because I got delivery & you get better quantity if you eat there. It was almost $45.00 for 2 people.
