At our Adel, GA location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

Stopped on vacation. This place is Disgusting. Floors and seats are sticky and slippery. 20 minutes for food. Bathrooms are unclean. Flies in the restaurant. I didn’t even want the food when it came out for fear of food poisoning. Enter at your own risk should be on the door.

I was driving home from a family vacation. When we decided to stop and eat. We had two vehicles. I ordered a 4 piece fish meal. When I pulled I noticed a sign on the window that said .15 cents per extra sauce. I asked for 4 extra tarter sauce. After I pulled away I noticed I only got 4 so I called the car behind me and told them to grab my extra tarter sauce. Long story short the lady was very rude and told me to come inside with my bag. They even forgot the poppers in the other car we had. This place definitely needs to have a Breyer customer service attitude. I’m definitely calling corporate

My husband and I were on our way home to FL after a trip to TN. We stopped in for a late dinner and I left my phone at the restaurant. They had closed at 9pm, but waited an extra hour for us to come back to get my phone. I am so thankful for the thoughtfulness of the staff that waited patiently for us to arrive after closing. We totally enjoyed our spicy fish sandwiches too!❤️

Being able to get fish out here on the road is a treat when you’re a truck driver. We’re too used to eating burgers and fries unless we run into that rare truckstop with an actual restaurant. Especially one that is clean. And I really mean that. Some restaurants will simply knock the old food onto the floor and set the table for the next customer. That in itself is just not sanitary. This place Captain D’s is a clean place to eat. The food is quality food. They offer your fish cooked how you like it: batter dipped, Cajun style, baked,or southern style. I really got to enjoy their menu as I tried much of it sitting around for the last two days waiting to get loaded. Turns out my load is in a different place. Therefore, I chose to take some of it with me. The seafood gumbo is delicious. The Cajun catfish is fantastic. The batter dipped pollock is salted just right. And the grilled white fish is seasoned just right to. It doesn’t taste all watered down. The sweet tea is sweet. Their fountain drinks aren’t flat or weird tasting. The Cole slaw is creamy and slightly sweetened. Not bland and mixed with only mayonnaise. And the fries are golden brown. I really got to enjoy Captain D’s seafood. If you’re near one then stop on in. You’re stomach will thank you for not being so greasy. I know because I bought a pan of fish from another spot I had to walk a mile to just to pick it up. Bone city! And grease pooled on yhe bottom of the pan. Fingers were so greasy I might as well have drunk it straight from the pan. But not Captain D’s. Trust me… your stomach will thsnk you for not being greasy.

Truly incredible how poor the service here was. I was the first person to arrive when they opened And it took over 20 minutes to get my food while being the only person in the restaurant. I went with this option in order to save time and it ended up being a waste of time.

The fried fish was good but not great. For the price, it was good. There is a Seniors special on Sunday, which was okay. Service was good but needed more for we had a long wait.

Staff is super slow. I would have sworn they had to catch the fish. We waited so long to be served. Sandwiches were nothing to brag about, they served the purpose.

OK, we like Captain D’s where we live. We were traveling on I-75 and stopped at this one. We both said that the food was the best and the facility was the cleanest of any that we had visited. And, everyone of the staff was also the best.
