At our Augusta, GA location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

Great customer service , the counter top, bathroom an dining room floors were clean. Immediately when the customer on the opposite side of me finished eating an left an employee cleaned an swept the floor. I had the $5.99 Crispy catch an fries but I had the coleslaw, extra side order shrimp an hush puppies. I set there an observed how the staff were talking very professional no cursing, not loud an I was the only one eating there for over 20 minutes before another guy sat down to eat. This lady in red approached the counter employee to tell them how delicious the food was as I just sat down to eat. So I just happened to be on this side of town because of a basketball game at Augusta University gym across the street. So I really appreciate the service.

I rate this service today a Negative 1. The coleslaw was spoiled for 3 of our family’s orders. We requested a replacement side item. The person in the kitchen became angry and yelled that she made the coleslaw. She stated she could not understand why we were the only people to complain. She loudly stated that “it’s always colored folks”. The person continued to speak loud and complain about working in the back by herself. She even complained that we did not ask for our money back and leave. The coleslaw was the only problem. She continued to antagonize my family by yelling from the kitchen and throwing boxed food on the top counter. We finished our other food and continued to enjoy our meal together as we do every Sunday. We never received poor service from the many other restaurants we visit. The cook/manager had deplorable, unreasonable, and unprofessional behavior.
Another person of a different race (Caucasian) returned her plate of food. There was no question or comment. She received a complete replacement of her meal without concern from the cook/manager. My family and I sat and visited with each other as we do every Sunday. We will not return to this place.

I had a bad experience a few months back by not getting all of our food and a rude lady working there but it was made good by the manager..so I decided to give it another chance on Saturday and order a lot of food family meals and while eating a hush puppy found a piece of sharp hard plastic whick I thought was glass at first..Thank God I didn’t swallow it but I will never eat at this Captain D’s again and thank God my child didn’t consume it.people watch where u eat and check your food and your children food. No matter where u eat at..smh I will cook at home more because this situation could have been tragic..I hear about this happening a lot and now I believe it I wish I could add the picture

I had 2 5.99 special lemon pepper fish meals. Hushpuppies and fries were old and cold !! Don’t understand i waited in drive thur 10 minutes. Captain D’s i didn’t mind the wait because food was always HOT!!. But this time someone in the kitchen. Drop the ball. Will not be returning.

Via door dash, I placed an order for a 4 piece dinner. I have no idea who thought this was okay. I have no idea what is on the fish, looks like dirt. Advice, open and inspect your food. Better yet eat somewhere else.. Rarely do postings, gotta do better. Throwing away.

So when did Captain D’s start selling Mrs. Paul’s fish sticks? I got a 2 piece, when I got home I was like HUH? Then it was soggy and greasy. So disappointed. About 20 fried okra pieces, and a tablespoon of green beans. Now I’m not greedy, but I do expect my money’s worth. 2 skinny strips of fish and one of them had an end broken off. Never going to this restaurant again. But I will give another location a try since I love Captain D’s.
