At our Ft Oglethorpe, GA location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

I am giving 5 stars across the board for several reasons but the service and food today was PHENOMENAL. Dee maintained our dining area and ran food wonderfully and everything we received was fresh. We were concerned when we walked in and saw the employees were having to serve drinks from 2 liters by hand. But they did the best they could with what they had. My gripe goes directly to the owner. I have watched this particular location struggle with what resources they have for YEARS! The employees work VERY HARD and you can tell they are a little stressed. Rightfully so! It’s hard to serve a big Sunday crowd when your fountain drink machine doesn’t work properly. Bathrooms need to be remodeled. Coke machine area needs to be COMPLETELY ripped out and redone. Most of the kitchen area that is visible from the lobby looks like it needs to be updated. Invest in your location and people and I PROMISE you it will be paid in full ten fold.

It’s been years, but I had a craving and I was willing to put up with anything that, in my mind kept me away from fast food seafood. However to my surprise, not only was the food amazing, it was a CLEAN store and the sweetest, friendliest staff. I will make the drive to eat at this particular Captain D’s. Thank you

I used to frequent this restaurant several years ago. Then, the prices went up, while the portion sizes went down. Still, every now and then, I had to get me some of that fish. The other day, I stopped for some. The service was great, friendly, smiling, face. My fries and slaw were fine, but the fish was so bad. The breading was so thick! It looked like a big piece of fish (like in the old days), but when I went to eat it, it was mostly breading, more like bread. Captain D’s fish is supposed to be crispy on the outside. I peeled away the bread from the fish and tried to eat it, but it was awful.
Additionally, when I tried to find a clean table, all of them were dirty with crumbs and such. Seats, too. I had to brush crumbs from the cleanest I saw. I was one of 3 tables being used, and it was not busy. The windows were dirty, the restroom was out of paper towels. The dining room looked dingy with chipped and peeling paint. The floors were dirty.
Finally, an employee did come and wipe some tables, but not chairs and booth seats. She did ask how I was doing, and I showed her my fish. She offered to replace it. I let her replace one piece, but my appetite was gone. I ended up bringing it home and fed it to the cats.
I hate it, I love me some fish-n-chips but it will be a long time before I try them again.

I am a DoorDash driver. I got an order and I have been standing at the front counter for over 10 minutes with the food sitting in the window. No help and the place looks deserted. Poor help. I can hear people cleaning in the back. I guess they are rushing to get out on time instead of helping the customers and clients.

Upset with service from Chris. And the food that looked like it had been bitten out of. Hannah was great at her job. But I was told by Chris I could not order a meal without the shrimp and I had to take them no matter what, even if in a separate box, even though I am allergic to shrimp. He didn’t care. He was fast talking, sounded aggressive and aggravated just bc I asked about it to Hannah and he interrupted her when she was trying to answer my question. She was the lady at the window in drive through handling my order to begin with. The food looking like it was bitten out of was so nasty. I was so upset I should of asked for my money back but didn’t. Hannah gave me a hush puppy in a different box. But if I had been thinking, I would of thought what else could of been done to the food. Thought about after I got home. Open the box of the catfish and the other hush puppy had looked like it was bitten out of too. Food literally was wasted and so was my money.

The food was absolutely amazing here today and the staff was professional, and attentive… unlike the staff that I encountered a little over a year ago. Keep up the good work!

Today’s corn and fish 5/10/21
Brown corn. I called and spoke to Sarah. The corn was put in this morning. She didn’t notice it was brown she made the plate.She would be happy to replace the corn.. .so I can drive all the way back there to get a piece of corn? Not.. now I know why the parking lot was empty at dinner time.

Got two 3-piece fish dinners and was denied free cups of the tartar sauce that is not pre-packaged. They’re not allowed to give the tartar sauce out unless you get a family meal. I had to purchase two cups of tartar sauce to go with the fish that I purchased. ($2.15) ..What if I dined in? Could I squirt the sauce into little cups for free or Do I have to pay for it?? How ridiculous!!! I won’t be back!

*** WELL… here it is a year later and I went through the same garbage all over again today !!!. ..Why can’t I get a cup of tartar sauce for a three-piece meal? Totally ridiculous! If I dined in I can eat as much as I want of it and trust me I will use a whole Cup on three pieces of fish! Had to cancel my order.

Ordered a 2 piece fish dinner the fish looked like fish sticks and the hush puppies were burnt tasting. With no drink added. I remember when a drink was included with the meal.

DO NOT EAT HERE! You pay $12 for a catfish combo for dinner and you get 2 pieces that are barely 2 inches long and 12 fries! DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME OR YOUR MONEY AT THIS DUMP
