At our Eastanollee, GA location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

It was about like the Captain D’s from my childhood except it was drive thru because they close dining room at 7pm. Fish isn’t fishy, which is a good thing to me. Wasn’t a big fan of the stuffed crab but that is subjective. Shrimp were good and clam strips a bit too crispy but overall good. Fries are fried in same grease I think but it’s ok as long as eaten together. Price is super cheap by today’s standards. It was a nice surprise that not a lot has changed and I enjoyed it after 20 years of not having it. SWEET hush puppies are the best!!

I got me a large sweet tea and an order of fried green tomatoes. Got it home about 5 miles away and the tomatoes were still hot, and tasted so good. Sweet tea is delicious too.

The food is always excellent but the young lady behind the counter had the best, most friendliest attitude that we have seen in a long time! I wish we would have looked for her name to give her praise but she might remember that our ticket was under “Big Daddy”.

They got the door unlocked at 7 minutes til 11 so I walk inside and they advise me that they don’t open til 11. I said that’s fine and I’ll wait. She then says that they can’t have anybody inside the store until 11.

I hadn’t been to Captain D’s in many years because I remember it as greasy fried fish that you smother with malt vinegar to make it edible. This place was anything but that! Got baked tilapia with two sides for a very reasonable price (at least reasonable considering the price of a hamburger these days). The dining area and restroom were very clean, and the order taker was polite and smiled at us. Because it wasn’t very busy when we were there, she was soon out cleaning in the dining room. I will definitely go back to that Captain D’s near the Walmart in Toccoa.

My first impression from management was terrible I was sent there to meet with the manager for work instead of him coming to me respectfully and letting me know it was a mistake me being sent there.. He made me sit there over thirty minutes stewing in my juices and rudely came over to me expressing what was done and the person that sent me to him had left on terrible terms. That was none of my business in all my 28 yrs of management experience I’ve never seen such lack of professionalism. I wouldn’t eat here or want to work for such a person .glad that bullet was dodged.
