At our Hudson, NC location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

We just moved to Lenoir and were bummed to find LJS was closed down. But then we found Captain D’s. Walking in had a great vibe. the cashier who helped us was friendly and professional. The shirmp and fish and chicken plates were perfectly proportioned. The food was much better then the other place. The coleslaw and okra were delicious. We will definately be back.

Capt. D’s is a decent place to eat, a lot of older people seem to know this. The service was very fast. By the time we found a seat in the crowded dining room, the girl hand delivered our meals. The conversations at the surrounding tables was amusing, ranging from someone having a heart attack to city politics. Overall this was an interesting place to visit.

Tgis place is usually really good but been hit or miss lately. Tonight I got two orders, a grilled whitefish, and a seafood platter. Well she asked if I wanted my whitefish “Blackened, lemon pepper or regular? I don’t think they usually ask me that but good to have options so I said Regular… well they gave me blackened anyway. Then my seafood delux platter… tgey didn’t put fish in the box, instead they seem to have added checken. It is like this if all you have is blackened just say that… and if you don’t have fish… how about just letting me know I was disappointed. There have been a few times that the fried fish has tasted like way more “fishy” than normal, but at least it was fish… this was like wth? I like the food for a fast food seafood place they usually do great, but lately… someone needs to step it up a bit. consistency goes a long way.

Ordered a family meal with loaded baked potatoes loaded. I missed that it cost 10.00 more. With meal we ordered 2 cheesecakes. Upon return if my 20 mile trip I didn’t get cheesecake and the baked potatoes where not cooked! I called store and talked to Courtney manager on duty. I asked if could get my cakes and return my potatoes. I asked for two cakes to replace the BP. Another 20+ Mike trip I did get the four cheesecakes My issue is I never got any apology from anyone. Courtney was not professional no concern no apology. I can provide my email order confirmation. I need some sort of compensation for a ruined meal that cost me 45.00

Ordered jalepeno poppers, thought i was getting the regular 8 piece, but only had 4 pieces in each box- never knew they sold 4 piece poppers- certainly didnt see that option on the drive thru menu- very very disappointed

My family and I had a call in order. We get through the drive threw and tell them the name. We waited 30 minutes or longer in the drive threw, with it only being 2 cars in line. When we finally get to the window, they kept asking if we paid and I told them we needed to pay. They couldn’t figure out what they were doing. Captain D’s employers are incompetent and should be either trained more or fired. We just drove off without our order because of their incompetence. This was second shift Sunday as well
