C29 is a new restaurant fashioned after Capo in Santa Monica that has been open 26 years. As ambitious as we would like to be, we serve a limited menu until we open at 61 Main St. C29 is about a great wine list, the finest ingredients we can find, prepared with classic techniques made simple, in an environment of fine art & warm lighting, elegant table settings & glassware. In spring of 2025 we will move to our new St Helena location, with an expanded menu & wine list, seasoned staff & the best we can offer for Italian Restaurants Napa Valley.

Food-wise, everything we ate was perfectly prepared and delicious. We could tell that a lot of time and attention went into the ingredients and their preparation. Nothing was overworked or too complicated. The price point of some of the dishes may give you pause, but when you taste the food, you quickly recognize the quality. We enjoyed our meal so much that the next morning we returned to the restaurant to pick up some of their bakery items. The croissant and pastries did not disappoint. We’re looking forward to enjoying another great meal at C29.
The mushroom lasagna was absolutely out of this world — rich, earthy, and perfectly balanced, easily one of the best pasta dishes we’ve had in Napa Valley. The bass was cooked flawlessly: delicate, fresh, and elegant without being fussy. And the meal ended on the highest note with the chocolate soufflé, which was nothing short of spectacular — light, decadent, and unforgettable.C29 delivers food that is refined yet comforting, with a clear respect for ingredients and technique. We can’t wait to return
Given our private dining experience, the price was worth it.
Looking forward to returning in the near future.
Generally not impressed by the food considering the price range and the better alternatives in the area. We had a recommend rigatoni Ragu and a rack of lamb bill close to $200. The produce felt like it was not freshly made and would expect better for that price range.
The staff is super friendly and kind. They left us with great complimentary little desserts at the end.
Would encourage staff to reduce overall menu size and focus on more seasonal foods to improve of overall customer satisfaction.
We dined here because Cook St. Helena was booked up. Waiters were waiting by the door at this place trying to entice people in. We ignored it initially because there was no one there. Later through, we thought maybe the place was new. This was seemingly confirmed by the staff. Turns out though that this is a “pop up.” The permanent restaurant will apparently come later. Seems weird, but ok. When we asked about this, we didn’t get much of an explanation. What we did get were a lot of details about how the plates are Christian Dior and how the cutlery was sourced from the same company as that of the Titanic. Very weird observations that we hadn’t asked about. All in all, it seemed like they were trying to highlight how high class the restaurant was, in spite of the food (the most important part) being very mediocre for the price point. Not terrible. I want to highlight that. But not even remotely close to being the quality you would expect for pasta dishes that are between $50 – $60. I’ve been to plenty of high end restaurants where I happily pay this price point. I’m always wowed by the food. Not here.
