I got the barbecue chicken bowl but I subbed the tomatoes for cucumbers. I asked for extra dressing, but I should have made sure I liked it first. Lol. It wasn’t horrible, but I wouldn’t get it again(The dressing). Everything was fresh and had a nice crisp. I really enjoyed the chicken. I was quite dissatisfied with the portions. I definitely felt like I could have used more greens. There was too much empty space for the price.
My fiancé got a different meal and he enjoyed his especially the honey? Mustard dressing. The potatoes were great as the chicken. He would have gotten the wild rice instead of the quinoa.
The manager came to our table to ask how everything was and we had a nice conversation with her. Customer service was great, everyone was friendly.
Prices were expensive. We paid $42 for two bowls and two bottles of water. My fiancé did get extra chicken.
I went back inside and explained that I had ordered two pieces of salmon but only received one. They did provide the additional piece I paid for, but I noticed they had to get salmon from the back since they appeared to be out in the front display. It seems like they were trying to cut corners by splitting one piece rather than getting fresh salmon, probably to avoid restocking sooner.
The fact that they initially tried to pass off a split portion as “extra” is concerning. It makes you wonder if this is standard practice for delivery orders, assuming customers won’t notice or come back to check.
For the price point and reputation, customers should get exactly what they pay for from the start, not have to return to claim what was already purchased.
Thank you for doing such a great service!
The star of the show, of course, was their incredible selection of salads. As a health-conscious individual, I’m always on the lookout for fresh and nutritious options, and they made me feel a great experience. The variety of salads on their menu was impressive, offering an array of flavors, textures, and unique combinations. I got the chicken teriyaki which is served with blackened chicken, roasted zucchini, yellow squash, spicy broccoli, raw carrots, basil, shredded cabbage, baby spinach, and sesame teriyaki dressing. I added pesto dressing and it was simply amazing.
The staff members were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu.
Another aspect that impressed me was the restaurant utilizes eco-friendly packaging and sources its ingredients from local farmers whenever possible. It’s heartening to support a restaurant that values the environment as much as it does its customers.
In conclusion, Sweetgreen is a gem of a salad restaurant in DC and I cannot recommend it highly enough. Whether you’re a dedicated salad lover or simply looking for a healthy, flavorful meal, this restaurant will not disappoint you.
This one has massive cafeteria seating which makes it less “cozy” than other locations but I imagine they need it for peak times (I’ve seen it mid-full at mid peak, I can imagine what it’s like during peak )
If you’ve never done sweetgreen you might want to consider it
Fresh and when possible local ingredients in a “as healthy as one can be” in large turnover environment
Tasty too
Staffed well
