Came here for a late lunch and had the place to ourselves. Food was amazing, like Michelin star good. Awesome location great big open window in the front so you feel like you’re right on the main street in Friday Harbor. Can’t wait to come back.

Hands down best sandwich I’ve had in years!!! My husband had the Friday harbor on sour dough pictured here. I stole a bite, YUMMY!!! I had the Lopez on wheat. Both delicious! Both the potato salad and garden salad were great too. Thanks Dean and Allegra! we will be back on our next trip over.

My daughter loved the flowers you drew on the bags! Thank you so much! We left flowers on your windowsill this morning 😉

Dined here for lunch 10/2/2025 near the end of the lunch. Let me start by saying the prices are absurdly high, this is about a 80% mark up for the same meal I would have in a major city.

The sandwich portions were small, it tasted ok.
The side salad and dressing were good.
The service was good and the food was out very quickly.

Sandwiches might be my favorite food and I’ve eaten my fair share in this life. It’s rare I come across something new, so I was very interested in trying their steamed sandwiches. They are SO GOOD. The steaming makes the thick bread fluffy and soft, the fillings perfectly warmed. The owner was also lovely and gave us the history of the establishment, which features many beloved items from restaurants that no longer operate in Friday Harbor. She sent us on our way with full bellies and a delicious frosted cookie, still warm from the oven. Love this place!

Had lunch today – so thrilled to have these sandwiches back in my life.

“Just like how I remember them”
“This potato salad is soo good”

We’re just two of the quotes from family members as we consumed the San Juan, Spieden, Lopez and Cyprus offerings.

Welcome back Cannery House! Thx to the team of folks who are making it happen – all the best!

Service was very slow though we were the only ones ordering. Lamb gyro had little lamb taste. Potato salad was in a soup of mayonnaise. Bulgogi sandwich was tasty and the house salad was fine. Way too much mayo on the tuna sandwich.

I don’t usually leave reviews, but my partner and I split the Cask Chicken Sandwich and the Montecristo (deep fried savory sandwich/sweet French toast combo) and they were somehow both the best sandwiches I have ever eaten in my life. 10/10, would recommend, if I’m ever in Friday Harbor again I would absolutely eat here again

We were wandering around Friday Harbor on a Saturday, hoping to find lunch, but many places were closed. Luckily, we stumbled upon this sandwich shop, and it turned out to be the best find of our trip. The sandwiches were hands down the best I’ve had in years—fresh ingredients, perfectly balanced flavors, and so satisfying. The staff was friendly, and the cozy atmosphere made it even better. If you’re in Friday Harbor, do yourself a favor and stop here for a truly unforgettable meal. Can’t wait to come back!

We placed take-out order during start of their business. In-person dining was not allowed, but their tables were set to look like they were open. We ordered Rueben with their soup of the day: French onion soup. The steamed bread with very wet fillings made a huge mess to eat. Steamed bread can have its place, but this sandwich lacks the sturdiness to hold and bite. The soup we received was a canned cream of mushroom. We saw a post a couple months later by someone else showing their French onion soup and it was a broth, not the condensed cream soup served to us. We didn’t grow up on the island to expect these sandwiches to fulfill a taste memory like locals do. We only know to compare them to all the deli sandwiches we have enjoyed in life. I wouldn’t choose to go back for the experience I want to have.
