We celebrated Valentines Day at this lovely Mexican seafood restaurant. We shared Ostiones (raw oysters), Fajita Acapulco (shrimp, crab, scallops, tilapia), and house mixed sangria. Chocolate chimi finished our excellent meal.

Our second time there. Food is great. However we were greatly disappointed with the “fried ice cream”. After building it up to our 3kids who had never had it, it came to the table with maybe two tablespoons of ice cream ,some whipped cream and some chocolate syrup on the plate. Nothing even close to the expectations after looking at the menu photo. It was a very warm day and power was out during the day so maybe they were out? But still it would have been better to just let us know instead of serving what they did. I still tipped 30% on a 109.00 bill because I know they work hard and surely are not paid enough. We didn’t say anything because the kids were getting tired and we wanted to go. But wow. Should have taken a photo!

The air conditioner was not working in half of the building when we arrived. The host seated us in the area without A/C where we were the only ones. Everyone else was in the other side. The host said nothing about the issue with the A/C. After a few minutes it was obvious. Two families that were seated after us got up and left before ordering. Not wanting to cause a scene, we waited for our order. Later a lady came in and had a small dog on a leash. The dog attacked a waitress barking and biting at her heels. Terrified she stayed at our table so that she wouldn’t have to encounter the dog again. The Chicken fajitas were okay but not worth sitting in the 90 degree heat and risking a dog bite on the way out of the restaurant. The young lady that waited on us was very nice, but the host that seated us without mentioning the broken air conditioning earned them a one star review.

Great food, and the service was AMAZING!!!! The waiter was on top of everything we needed. I ordered the Chorri Pollo, which I highly recommend. I’ve had this dish at other restaurants, but they delivered it here to perfection!!! I will definitely be returning, and so far, this is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Gallatin.

Just moved to Gallatin and thought we had found our spot. But when “our spot” failed us on service the 2nd and 3rd time, we found this place. It was great. The food is presented well, the service was very personable, and margaritas are top notch!!!!!! Highly recommend!!!!!!

I was never a fan of Mexican until I ate here about 5 years ago. I was staying in Gallatin for the weekend and got the Chorio Pollo, I was blown away how good it was. I have tried at least a dozen other Mexican restaurants and none of them come close to Cancun Lagoon. So fast forward to this weekend and finally make it back to Gallatin, Tn. So for dinner it had to be here. How would it stack up, was it just that one night or made up in my mind was so good the first time. Well my second time here was equally as great!! No let down, flavor, color was amazing. The owners sister was a great help and super nice!!! Well done, there is no doubt why the ratings are so high here. MAGNiFICENT!!
