I got the Italian beef sandwich with fries and a drink. Cost about $18.99 I told the cashier (lady) that I didn’t want the sandwich too spicy and wanted half and half with both types of peppers. I left the store assuming that I would get what I wanted but opened it and saw only green peppers. The lady cashier said that it was her fault and would add more peppers…. BUT I also noticed that the fries were cold mind you I’m the only customer so
EVERYTHING should be hot. She told me that refunds weren’t available upon leaving which was fine because I just wanted EVERYTHING remade. The owner/manager comes and corrects everything and even added the cheese that I requested. I get it and everything is HOT. I get to the car and see nothing but OIL and cheese no where near melted.. I took a piece of the sandwich and my lips, tongue, brain and throat could not tolerate it. There’s no way this is normal to make an Italian beef like this. EVERYTHING BURNS ️ I guess they got mad about me wanting it remade but it was only right. Wish I could have got a refund . The manager was very nice about it but I spent $20 and couldn’t even enjoy the food. DEFINITELY WONT be going back there but thanks for customer service. LONG STORY SHORT.. CHECK YOUR FOOD BEFORE YOU LEAVE.

This place is yuck.
Nothing about it is fresh. Overpriced too.
The gyro was thin stripes and very dry.
Italian beef was just microwaved beef and hot peppers slapped on top.

Use to be a great place. Last 2 times were not great. In fact, this time, there was a hair in my fries and they tasted horrible. Oil needs to be changed. Fries are not the same type they use to be anyway. The hot dog was chewy like it was in a warmer all day. 95 percent of tables dirty. Not going back.

My husband, son and I went to Cal’s yesterday at 12:27. My son ordered a cheeseburger and fries, my husband and I got the Italian beef (which he later added sausage to) with a side of onion rings. My son and I had a soft drink and my husband had water. The bread on our sandwiches was hard and chewy like it had been microwaved and it became inedible towards the end of our sandwiches. We couldn’t even eat it all and threw the remainder away. He ordered his sweet and I got mine hot. We left and drove 2.5 miles to where we live and I immediately vomited. This was followed by diarrhea, nausea and severe stomach cramping. My husband didn’t get sick immediately but it hit him within a few hours. Same issues. This isn’t right. We paid $53.65 for a meal that made us ill.

I walked in before getting the family out of the car and was like yup authentic. We wanted a Portillos style beef sandwich but didnt want to drive back down to Dallas or up to Chicago as this was in-between lets just say this beats out Portillos by miles. The beef sandwich with Hot peppers was phenomenal. Definitely will be a repeat stop when we pass through Oklahoma. Outstanding taste. Thank you. (HOT Peppers ARE HOTT!!)

Wow this is a hidden gem. The service is great and the food is so good. The Italian beef and Italian sausage is so good. The pickle fries with ranch are a new favorite. And the triple berry tart is the perfect way to end a meal. The owners are down to earth and aim to provide the best service available. The prices are fair for the quality of food. We will definitely be back. A definite must try in OKC.
Update been going back for the last few months and have yet to find anything that wasn’t good and everything hits. If you haven’t checked them out yet you are missing out.

I recently visited Cals Chicago eatery in OKC and unfortunately, the quality of the food has declined over my last three visits. During my first two visits, my orders were mixed up, which was quite disappointing. On my most recent visit, although my order was correct, the food quality was not up to par.
Cals Chicago eatery is known for their attempt at serving the best Italian beef in Oklahoma. However, this time, the quality of the Italian beef fell short. The polish sausage, which is usually good, was rubbery and difficult to bite into. It reminded me of a 7-11 or a janky corner store polish sausage that had been left on a roller or microwaved for days.
The wings at Cals Chicago eatery seemed to be pre-made and warmed up in a microwave. The texture was too soft, and it felt like they had been sitting in a bag for a while. The wings were then tossed in buffalo sauce, but unfortunately, they did not meet my expectations in terms of flavor and texture.
Based on my experience, I would rate the wings a 2 out of 10 and the polish sausage a 1 out of 10. It’s disheartening to see the decline in quality at Cals Chicago eatery, and I am unsure if I will be returning in the future.

The sounds of famous crooners and the images of famous and infamous Chicagoans fill this small space up! Friendly operators with a great variety of flavors. Anything from a Gyro to a Philly to a classic Chicago Style Dog. The only mistake I made was coming during the lunch hour. The most common customer here during lunch is a group of hungry hardworking dudes! Once they were able to get all of these dudes satisfied and out the door my food arrived. I went with the Chicago Dog and a side of Chili Cheese Fries. It has been a very long time since I had a solid Chicago style dog! I was satisfied with my decision. Something special about a simple food like a hot dog being turned into a flavorful delicacy. The food was fresh, hot, and hit the spot! Enjoy!

Great service and delicious meals! Our first visit and the staff was so helpful and friendly. Lots of tasty options to choose from. We were happy with our choices, a Chicago Dog and a Classic Philly. We made both meals combos. The fries were fresh and crispy on the outside. 🙂
