It has been 5 or 6 years since we have been able to get up here to Eagle Nest, and arrived late and hungry Stopped in to Calamity Jane’s, always one of our dad’s favorite. Chicken Fried Steak was great, but the service was even better. Very attentive and friendly. We will definitely return.

Decent food, just hard to get past the slow service. The servers are nice and try to do a good job, but they were terribly understaffed the last couple of times we went, so it took twice as long to eat lunch as it should have, and a few of our orders were wrong when they arrived. You’re better off just going to the adjacent saloon, which is a great place to kill some time.

We stopped in for dinner after doing a little fishing and it was wonderful! Chicken fried steak, shrimp alfredo, key lime pie, ALL were top notch! It is the Saturday night of a holiday weekend and I saw three different couples leave before eating because it did take a while, but good grief people! We are in a small mountain village and not a New York City restaurant! It was there loss. If you are in a hurry go to the service station and get a microwave burrito. If you are in Eagles Nest and want a wonderful meal, sit down, be patient, and enjoy!

The worst… never had such a bad experience. The service from our waitress was horrible. We waited over 20 minuets before getting served then waited another 40 minuets before our meal. Then during our lunch she couldn’t even stop by and ask if everything was ok and if we needed anything. But she gave the time for the other tables. As we went to pay she ask how it was and I straight up and told her about her horrible customer service. I don’t recommend this place. I always tip when we go out and eat but this waitress didn’t deserve it. If you can’t show customer service then don’t work in a place that serves customers.

Was rather disapointed being greeted with a sign as soon as we entered the eatery that there was a limited menu. Then when it came to ordering time there was the dreaded ‘we’re not serving this, were not serving that, were not serving anything with beef unless it comes in the form of hamburger’. Which eliminated a large number of choices from full meals to certain sandwiches.

Great place! They use quality ingredients and make most things like pies, breads, salad dressings, etc. in house. The burger and salad was wonderful and we were very pleased with the service also.

This place was the PERFECT stop for lunch. The food was amazing and the staff were superb. We were traveling with two 2 year olds and they happily ran around and burned energy even playing with the waitress, the staff was so nice and accommodating to their pent up energy.

We ate at Calamity Jane’s twice while on vacation. The house salad, pasta, pulled pork, BBQ sauce and burrito were all good dishes. The hotel, restaurant and saloon history is written on the back of the menu. If you are lucky the waitress will give you a tour of the haunted brothel upstairs.
