Myself and my family have been coming here, often with groups as large as 10, but with at least 2 to 4 as the average since this place opened this location.

In fact, my last review a year ago had stated that this was still a pretty good place to come. But even then we were seeing a decline in overall quality.

However today , As we have in the past and after being in the hospital for a few days for some stomach issues, I finally had the opportunity to eat some solid food and decided to go to Cagneys with my son, as we had not been in a while…

In the one picture, you can see what was supposed to be my son’s French dip sandwich…. It was sad by any standards of any restaurant anywhere…. It was one piece of roast beef rolled up in the center…

This is a boy if you know my son, that does not leave food on his plate when he’s hungry , and he had not eaten yet today….

He said the only way he could eat his over cooked onion rings was by dipping them in the gravy, and then he said there was no point eating the ” sandwich” because there was nothing in it, and at this point he felt like he was just dipping bread in gravy for the sake of doing it…. He actually asked if we could stop at burger king on the way home.

My meal was supposed to be a simple patty melt, I mean how bad can you scew up a patty melt right ? i’ve been making these since I was in my young teens… not difficult .

Patty melts consist of nicely slow caramelized onions to build sweetness and tenderness with a pinch of sugar, with usually 8 -10 ounce piece of pressed ground beef smash burger that is no more than medium that has just a little bit of crisp while still being tender inside and not overdone., because it’s on toast, it normally has at least two pieces of swiss cheese to make the sandwich creamy, and it’s all placed on two nicely flat top grilled pieces of rye bread, I always did them with salted butter…. And I made them golden brown …

That’s the way it should be done…

My sandwich however was charred and blackened to the point that it was just falling in charred pieces , the bread was not toasted or grilled properly, it was actually just soggyand grosd , the onions were hard and bitter not remotely caramelized, I don’t think the patty was eight ounces as advertised because quite honestly it was tiny, and it had on one piece of swiss that barely covered the center of the bread… and to add insult to injury , the biggest killer of fast food restaurants is improperly done french fries imo… which mine were severely overdone and greasy and
Inedible.

80% of my meal laid cold n flavorless on the plate as we left and nobody cared.

Furthering the insult, we are sitting in a restaurant that is essentially empty on a Wednesday afternoon at noon , which should tell you there’s a problem, our waitress is arguing with either management or the back kitchen about her days off and then taking that same argument to people’s tables., At which point she comes to ours and doesn’t even ask us Why 2 grown men who just spent $50 on food, are leaving 75% of it Sitting on the table and don’t want a box.

That should be self explanatory in her 10% tip.

When the nice young lady at the counter asks us if we enjoyed our food, I said no, I showed her a few pictures of it, she said that’s actually embarrassing when I showed her the inside of my son sandwich.

She asked If we wanted management to be made aware of it, and I said if management doesn’t know that the quality of food has slipped by this empty restaurant at 12:30 on a Wednesday, or the fact that we are leaving the majority of our food sitting on the table, then this is management that shouldn’t be in the industry.

What you can tell them is that they just lost 5 more customers permanently because the food that was placed in front of us, I would have never put in front of a customer in any time in my career..

Then we see later our take out order for my wife, a buffalo chicken salad, which wouldn’t have filled a side salad bowl, and the cucumbers were rotten.

My wife and I went there last Thursday for meatloaf dinner the girls just said seat yourself, the sign clearly states please wait to be seated so we seated ourselves at 5:30 we waited 20 minutes could not get anyone to come wait on us then I asked to girl waiting on the people across from us about drinks then they sent a guy who could barely speak English we told him we wanted sweet tea and ice water to drink he said he would be right back 15 minutes later nothing to drink yet so when they finally came back we placed our order she got the kids chicken tenders grilled and I got the meatloaf had to wait almost 25 minutes for the food to come out after tasting the meatloaf it was horrible it looked like a piece of bread with meat on it I could not even eat it so after waiting another 20 minutes for him to come back to check on us which he never did I asked the young lady waiting on the other tables about my food into exchange it for something else I ordered a hamburger steak well done and after another 15 minutes of waiting he brought it back and it was Bloody on the plate needless to say I did not eat that either so we decided to leave and accept our losses of no dinner and when we got to the checkout the young man didn’t even want to hear about our experience and charged my wife $2 extra for the chicken being grilled. Well that did it for me needless to say after coming up there being regulars for us and with our friends coming with us for the past year we won’t be any longer ,too many other restaurants with better service and better atmosphere and better food. By the way whatever cook you had back there last Thursday you need a new one.

Cagneys is the one consistently delicious restaurant. Wednesday is chicken dumplings they’re so good. Sunday is fried chicken but go early they sell out. The staff is friendly, especially the girls who work the drive-thru. If you have the chance try them out

This is a very quiet place. It’s a gem I found. I go here a lot because they serve breakfast all day and have a wide variety of foods to choose from. There staff is very friendly and food is always freshly prepared. Highly recommend.

Terrible experience on 8/16/25 the girl answered the phone and said let me put you on a brief hold. I said no worries, its Saturday that happens. 5 minutes later she comes back off hold to ask if Its okay if she puts me on a hold. I finally get my order taken and she tells me give us 20 minutes and it’ll be ready. I arrive 30 minutes later and went through the drive through. I paid then waited an additional 10-15 minutes in the line. The little blonde girl in the window was terribly rude and had a bad attitude. After the 10-15 minute wait she comes back to tell us that we need to come back in 5 minutes because they were frying our okra fresh. We left and came back as requested. We get our food and go home(15 minutes away) to open my plate to 5 and im not kidding 5 pieces of soggy old okra(obviously not fresh fried). Terrible experience won’t be back, if you like cagneys I recommend you drive an extra 30 minutes to Lexington cause this Granite Quarry location and its employees dont give a shit about the service or food they are putting out.

I had ordered a four star salad with all the fixings that came on it except for onions n tomatoes cause I don’t like them on a salad and I told them that I wanted grilled chicken. The price for the salad in the menu says $13.09 dollars n so then I also gotten a water and ranch for my salad. When the girl ranged my food up it ended up being $29 dollars n some change, when I asked about the price and the price in the menu I was told that they couldn’t help what the prices were. Make sure u watch the prices of ur food on what your getting. To remind you I was only getting 1 salad n water that’s it nothing extra no sides no nothing
