The food was good but not as good as I’ve had there before. The ambience is very confused but I don’t fault them for being busy.

This is a sensational restaurant! I have never tried Persian food until now and I will be coming back—again and again! The layers of flavors and use of spices are mind blowing. The atmosphere is wonderful, so warm and friendly. The shop next door is also well worth a look around.

We visited for the first time on a weekday for dinner and there was no wait. I heard reservations are recommended for weekend. The beef koobideh, eggplant and lamb dishes were nicely flavored and not too heavy. Not an expert in Persian dish but it was a refreshing experience. The staffs were kind and offered great recommendations. Take outs have a 20% discount.

Expensive but in line with other places in Boston area.. but fir sure great food. One of the better persian places I’ve eaten… and I’ve been to dozens of them over the years. Super nice service. Very clean. Awesome persian grocery market connected to it. Excellent shirazi salad. Highly recommend.

Truly the best experience of a Persian restaurant in the US. I lived for 5 years in Los Angeles, CA but I have never eaten Iranian kebab with the taste of Iran. Everything were perfect as expected clean and inviting. The owner and staff of the restaurant were super nice and warm. I really recommend this place. ☺️

The food was excellent and authentic Persian style Service was also very friendly and polite Our waiter was Binu and she was very patient with all her tables. There are only a few tables inside the Cafe and plenty of seating outside. All the employees chip in to put the order together. No complaints at all Will go there again

The staff here was very nice, giving us a nice homely feeling. The kebab was wonderful: it is pleasantly soft and lightly seasoned. The hummus also had a nice unique flavor.

First time having Persian food and cafe vanak exceeded my expectations and lived up to its reputation. First bite of the beef koobideh was a delightful explosion of flavors in my head – the meat was so tender, juicy, and full of exotic flavors that blew my mind. I followed online advice and asked for a substitute of the rice to rice with orange peel. The subtle sweetness of orange peel (carrots) in the rice goes perfectly with the beef, each bite is filled with a fruity aroma. Our waitress is lovely and tends to our table frequently asking for what we need, giving us helpful recommendations. 10/10 recommend and will be back!

One of the best meals I’ve ever had. Got the chicken with orange rice and lamb shank. We come back as often as we can to share restaurant with friends and family for an exceptional meal! My son didn’t even know he likes lamb shank, but he already wants to return

Never had a bad bite here. The lamb shank, both the beef and chicken koobidehs, all the different types of rice — you can’t go wrong with anything you choose. It’s rare to find a place where the food tastes as good for takeout as in-house, but this is it. And trust me — get the ice cream: unusual flavors, interesting textures.
