Although we were second in line to be seated, our server remained inattentive throughout the evening, which set an off tone from the start. The paella itself was underwhelming. It lacked the depth and seasoning expected from a well-executed Spanish dish, tasting more like a bland jambalaya. There was also no sign of the signature socarrat, the crispy bottom layer that adds texture and richness to traditional paella. It felt like an afterthought rather than the star of the menu.
On a brighter note, the homemade bread and aioli were warm, fresh, and full of flavor.
While there were a few highlights, I am not sure I would be eager to return. The foundation is there, but the execution needs refining to make it worth another visit.
Check out the happy hour – all tapas are half price. It is definitely a good deal to have any tapas for 50% off. However make quick decisions on food. The service could be quite slow as they are short staff. Give yourself at least 30-45 minutes to get seated and order food if you want to take an advantage of the happy hour.
