Never fail, always beautiful peaceful dining room overlooking the gorgeous architecture of the bank. Perfect latte (with simple beautiful foam art) and delicious breakfast sandwich on a freshly-baked croissant.

Passing through town and stopped here for a quick bite. Order at the counter and they brought the food out. My wife had Buttered Noodles and added chicken. I had a Prosciutto sandwich. Everything was fine, but nothing that would make us want to stop again.

Everything came out wrong— a total miss. Charred pizza, no truffles on the truffle fries, and raw falafel. Cocktails are build your own as we only got the liqueur and had to buy prosecco separately. Online menu did not accurately reflect what they offered. Staff was clearly not well trained. Atmosphere great though!

I liked it so much for lunch I came back for dinner. The porcheta and Fagioli soups were wonderful and really about the bread. I also came back and enjoyed the fresh carbonara, the artichoke was heavy and too rosemary forward. Almost off putting. The only reasonit didn’t score higher was the bread I was sold was crusty and old and I had been told that it was made in the morning and later in the day it dries out. That’s great but if it isn’t good don’t sell it to me or at least let me decide. Not cool.

We loved coming to Cafe Sapori – the food absolutely wowed us. We started with an olive loaf – I wasn’t expecting much at night given I thought the bread would have been out all day. Nope, it was completely fresh and flavorful. We then had the brussels sprouts, the pistachio pesto pasta, and a verdura sandwich. That was…too much food for two people. The brussels sprouts were amazing – some of the best I have ever had (and I eat a lot of brussels sprouts). The pesto pasta was perfect with every bite – the pistachio was nutty but more pleasant than the typical pine nuts and made for a wonderful take on a classic. The homemade noodles were phenomenal. The sandwich tasted mild compared to those, but I took most of it home for lunch the next day, and it was then incredible. Lastly, we got gelato and cannoli for dessert. The gelato was seemingly naturally flavored and thus more mild. The cannoli, however, was rich and creamy with a nice, crunchy shell – I highly recommend it. The atmosphere is casual, service was friendly, and they really care about their food, and it shows. I just wish it were in St. Paul instead.

What a pleasant surprise! I had never heard of this place before being invited for dinner by friends. The atmosphere is beautiful, the food wonderful and the wine delicious. The biggest surprise was how reasonable the prices were. For such a delicious meal with wine, the bottom line was so affordable. Go to try their breads and coffee and indulge in dessert, but please explore their food. The FAgioli was so delicious and comforting coupled with two kinds of Foccacia for dipping. The bowl was generous and perfect for the rainy December evening. My companions had the Lasagna, the Carbonara and the Casio e Pepe. We all had plenty for sampling and even some to take home. Delicious! Dessert was Tiramisu – a portion just right for one or two – with prices to match! Service is excellent with counter ordering. At first I questioned this, but it gave us control of the timing and attention we wanted. This is a MUST DO restaurant in Winona. It was well worth the drive from Rochester.

My mom and I tried this place for lunch yesterday. We both absolutely loved everything we ordered. The fried artichokes are especially delicious. It is surprising affordable for the portions. I’d drive to visit this place again to try different dishes.

Best Italian restaurant this side of the Twin Cities. The young owner is a great chef who spent time in Italy and Sicily learning baking and pasta. Don’t hesitate to come to Sapori, you won’t be disappointed, promise!
