I visited El Rodeo on a trip to visit family, and I have to say it was quaint. The food was excellent. I had the Burrito El Borrego which was delightful and very flavorful. I asked for a side dish of the creamy Habenero sauce from their Habenero Enchiladas which added a nice spice kick to the burrito that I really enjoyed. The restaurant felt a little dark and low lit for my personal tastes, but the decor was quaint and typical of most Mexican foor restaurants. Took a little to find or waiter when it came time to box up left overs, but this was not an overly big issue. Overall, I enjoyed my experience and would return next time I’m in town.

I came in on q2/2/2025 and ordered Dos Chile Rellonos. Imagine my surprise when I get home to realize it was stuffed bell pepper and not the pablanos stuffed with meat or cheese and fried brown w/w red or cheese sauce. The meat was mushy. I had ordered take-out and went to pick up my order. Well, if you have to go order they charge you .50 cent each plate to your order. They overcharged on one plate. The online prices are different than what they charge. And they overcharged on taxes. And the responds from the guy at the front, “he just works here?”

Well, several years ago my wife and I ate here because it was close to the house but we were not impressed. I don’t remember why, but we never went back. A few months ago we decided to give them another chance and man they have improved. We now go about once a week. The food is so good. The Hawaiiana Fajitas are friggin awesome. If you haven’t been here in a while or ever, you gotta try it. A+++++
If I HAD to choose a negative, I would say the salsa could be a little chunkier but that’s a personal preference so I’m not dinging them for that.

We got the wrong item in a pick up order, and instead of trying to correct it the lady (short dyed red hair lady at the front) was rude and unhelpful. This was the first time we had ordered in a while because of a similar situation so we won’t be returning. Better food and pricing 2 miles down the road at los portales.

Oh boy! This is a bit of a long review, sorry. My birthday was a few days ago and we had plans for dinner elsewhere but plans fell through, so we decided that we would go out last night for some Mexican food, my favorite! We’ve eaten here once before and it was fine, but one of those places you think “eh, I could do without ever going there again”. Back to last night… I’m not sure what the server’s issue was, but I have never been so disrespected in my life. She was very short with me when I ordered my food, but I thought maybe she was just busy and overwhelmed. By the way, she acted fine with my husband. Well then the food comes and she puts my plate down so AGGRESIVELY that the sauce completely sloshes off the plate and on to MY LAP! She grabs a napkin and proceeds to wipe the table, putting the sauce that was on the table ONTO MY LAP! I got a very insincere apology, so I just say that I’ve got it and grab more napkins. I asked for some diced tomato and was given a grunt of some sort. By this time, my husband is readying himself for me to have some kind of fit, but I somehow keep my cool. When she comes back, I apologize TO HER for asking for so much but could I please get some shredded cheese. She walks away, no response. When she returns with the cheese, she gives it to my husband and very sweetly says, “here’s the cheese for you tacos”. I asked for it, it was for MY FOOD. Now we are witnessing pure, intentional disrespect. We don’t live in the area, we don’t even live in the state, just here temporarily for work, so I don’t know what I could have done to make this woman treat me this way. Maybe I just have “that face”. Anyway, we eat our food, which again was “fine”, and when the bill comes my husband is expecting some kind of discount or another apology, something? Nope. I get that accidents happen, but this was beyond that. I did not ask to speak to management or ask for a discounted meal, we just paid the bill and left. I believe there would have been no remorse for her actions and no support from management; maybe SHE was management, IDK. Anyway, if you value your clothes, skin, and you value respect this is not the place for you, or me.

Absolutely love this place. My boyfriend and I have been coming here for almost 10 years now and I have never once been disappointed. They recently added a few new things to the menu, the brisket tacos and nachos are amazing. Tonight we had the Tres Palos and the vegetarian D plate and there was SO much food and plated so nicely. It’s always a great date night and we look forward to eating here for years to come
