This is our third time trying this Cafe Rio and unfortunately will be our last. We’ve given them the benefit of the doubt each time, considering our food was cold the first two times we’ve tried them despite dining in. Tonight we decided to give them another try. We stood in line for 5 minutes before someone asked what we wanted, even though the people ahead of us had ordered before we had walked in. It seemed like the staff was very slow moving and they spoke so softly or too quickly, you couldn’t hear/understand them. I ordered a salad with chicken. The guy at the end of the counter that added lettuce to my salad added so much lettuce that the container that was once full of lettuce for other dishes, now had barely any lettuce left for customers behind us. I was shocked he was able to cover my salad due to the amount of lettuce he added. We opted to take our food home instead of dining in. Once home, I started removing some of the excessive amounts of lettuce and promptly found an earwig amongst the lettuce. Talk about appetite completely gone! Completely disgusted. I attempted to call the store to make them aware but the number listed goes to a call center and not the actual restaurant. I did request a refund for the salad through the customer service agent at the Cafe Rio call center. We also brought the salad back to the restaurant so they would be aware and the manager on duty was disgusted as well and offered a new salad, which we declined. She also offered a refund but we let her know we had called and gotten that taken care of. Unfortunately we will not be returning to Cafe Rio, and I highly recommend checking your food before consuming if you should choose to dine here.

I love cafe rio. I go often. But this will probably be my last time. I understand that bugs can find their way into food. It happens. But when you’re in the process of eating and a little friend pops out to say hello, lunch quickly takes a bad turn.

Every time I come to this specific Cafe Rio, I am disappointed. The queso is usually so thick it breaks the chip, or has solid white chunks because of improver prep, I have stopped ordering it. There’s too much inconsistency with your food, it’s unflattering.

The food was a 3/10 but the service was a ZERO. There were 3 total orders in and it took 25-30 minutes to get my food. It was almost entertaining watching the employees fumble all over themselves trying to make tortillas that were oblong and way too thick. I did however appreciate the fact that my 3 quesadiarrhea tacos and a drink were an absolute steal at the low low price of 20 bucks! I’d stay away from this location. Owner needs to find new staff and consider changing out their meat trays a little more often.

Waited 20 minutes, restaurant forgot to check doordash orders. After another 20 minutes they still didn’t have it ready. I was there for over 45 minutes. Management and owners. Please fix. I understand things happen and you’re usually pretty good but this was unacceptable and even after I addressed the issue it still took over 25 minutes to get my order. A salad and two tacos, not difficult. I can’t even take any other orders while I’m sitting there waiting and it wastes my money and time and the customer gets mad at me and you as well. Just bad all around.

Tonight was the second time in a row our orders were messed up. I thought I caught it all this time only to get home and be disappointed. Trays were a disgusting mess. Sauce sides were missing at first and then all wrong after that. I called in to complain and got hung up on. Called back and the lady offered me $12 refund on a $50 order. We will not be returning.

Rice was hard (like crunchy), charged for additional drinks I didn’t order, drinks has no ice (drive thru). Chicken in burrito was dry/burned. Got a refund, but we’re not going back.

I wish I could give a better review because I know Cafe Rio has the potential to have great food. Tonight I walked in and my to go order was late- I understand if it’s busy but there was only myself, 5 employees, and someone at the register making a mixed drink? With a Co2 cartridge, vanilla, said other stuff. It was bizarre but wouldn’t have been a problem if I got my order with decent food. I was picking it up for a group and had to get other food to serve them.

We love Cafe Río salads, but recently our two salads ordered via this location drive thru were given to us with no beans. Prior drive thru order our salsa was missing. Make sure to check orders before driving away!

Here’s my order: two birria tacos with double rice and no beans. What do I get? Two birria tacos with no rice at all. So I call their support team to have half of my meal credited to my account. In the future you guys just listen to the order, repeat it back or even double check the food vs the receipt and this wouldn’t have to happen. This has happened here and at the Eagle location twice. Thanks sooo much but won’t be coming back.
