Absolutely atrocious service during our last several orders. Of the past 5 online orders we have made, only 1 has been ready anywhere near the stated time. The other 4 times, we have had to get in line to re-order our meal, as the staff told us that that was the only way we could get our food. Many times, this has required 30+ minutes of dealing with staff in order to get the food we already paid for.

LOVE Cafe Rios food, however this local is awful when it comes to service. Week after week of trying to order via the app or website, I arrive to be told the food is not ready. Todays visit they handed me the receipt (which should have been ready 30 minutes before my arrival), and told me they were behind, so get in the long line. This has been an issue for months now and does not make me want to continue visiting this particular location.

This is the third time I’ve gotten a to-go order they ruined. I won’t be coming back ever again. The past times they put cheese on everything despite me saying no cheese, and this time they forgot some of my order. I do not they should have a mobile order because their employees clearly can’t get it right. I won’t be going back. Also their birria tacos are gross. It’s mostly cheese and grease. So nasty and a waste of money. Would give 0 stars if I could.

Before Covid, I always had good experience, but now not so much. I remember the atmosphere of the staff making food from the start making eye contact and were friendly but by the time you get to the cashier you don’t have that good experience. The portions have been reduced maybe be the prep is an eye test.

The sweet pork Barbacoa burrito enchilada style is their signature dish. It is really good and a lot of food. It comes with a side of lettuce and pico de gallo. I really like their horchata, too. The service there is good and they give half price to military on Mondays.

I have had wonderful ordering at experiences at Cafe Rio over the past few years, but I will never be going back after finding a roach in my salad this evening. I contacted customer support and was refunded (thank you!), but I felt it necessary to post this photo so others know that the restaurant is not clean and bugs end up in your food. This is not ok – no one should have bugs in their food! Such a shame – I’ll never return.
