We love Cafe Rio and truly enjoyed our 1st catering order for a family event. Everything was ready at time of pick up and the food was warm and ready to serve. The sterno and chafing pans and serving utensils were so helpful!

We have frequented the Cafe Rio in Olney and every single time we are disappointed as the order is consistently incorrect. Out of every five times we go, 5/5 times something (or multiple items are) is missing or incorrect – I wish I was exaggerating. Additionally, the salads are skimpy when paying $14 for a salad. Today, I ordered ahead and picked up a salad with a couple of toppings, such as cojita cheese and pico de gallo – none of which were on the salad when I got home (image attached). Unfortunately, this is a frequent occurrence and has become very frustrating. We have decided to no longer visit this location. We prefer the Darnestown location as they are correct and provide a good amount of food. It has come to the point where we even tell our friends and family that the Olney location is no longer worth it.

We ordered a chicken salad and a chicken burrito. Both were tasty and plentiful. I love their horchata. Elsa, the manager, was fast, funny, and courteous. She has a hardworking team.

Went to get dinner around 7:45, told there was no horchata or tres leches because they are starting to close. My bf got grilled chicken and the cook was trying to rush one of the other guys caught it thankfully because IT WAS STILL RAW. They were also rude and trying to rush us through. This isn’t the 1st time that the customer service has just been plain rude. Its the fact that they tried to give us raw chicken and thought it was ok.

I will NEVER order catering from them for any occasion or work event! Their “large” feeds 4-5 people queso is more expensive and the same size as the regular menu “large” but the regular menu is less. No one had an explanation and both the manager in store and on catering was rude and no one could answer the question. I had to buy 3 – additional queso to just cover the difference and have enough. Plus all other catering venues offer chips usually that come with the sides (salsa, queso, etc) this is the only place that does not. Won’t be using them for my next event and won’t be ordering from the Olney location. Ever again!

This place was nice and clean. The best thing about Cafe Rio is that, that they make the tortillas from the scratch. They are super fresh and really really tasty. On Tuesdays they have a taco Tuesday day.
I’m giving them 4 stars instead of 5 stars because the crew on the assembly line is really fast. They don’t listen to your order properly. It feels like that, they care more about the completion of the order then what you want. In the rush they forget to put on couple of ingredients on your food.
Other than that Cafe Rio is nice place to grab tacos. This restaurant is vegetarian friendly.

This is the best Cafe Rio I’ve been to in the DMV. One complaint: they’re not located closer to my house! The folks behind the counter were nice and cheerful. The food was excellent as always. Great portions and fresh. I’ll be going to Cafe Rio for years to come!

The burrito is overpriced for what it is so make sure you SPEAK UP when asking for toppings and fillings, or else it will be very plain. (They close that burrito up as fast as possible!!) For vegetarians I recommend Chipotle instead.
The lemonades are really good though, and it’s a nice location and atmosphere.

This is a favorite spot of my family. We go here for family dinner on a regular basis. The Cafe Rio Crew in Olney is always friendly, and accommodating to our requests. The food is always good and fresh. They also have a rewards program which is great for discounts and giveaways.
