My wife has been telling me that we have to go to this place for 11 years, and we finally made it, and I’m so glad we did. The beignets were “out of this world” delicious. We each ordered 3 beignets, and as usual, I had 4 1/2 to her 1 1/2. (Please don’t judge me ) The coffee was fresh, hot and delicious. Service was prompt, friendly, and very attentive. The café itself was extremely clean and very presentable. It’s easy to see why this place is so famous. We exited by purchasing a shirt for my wife and a dozen beignets for our daughter, son-in-law, and our two grandsons to enjoy.

So the food quality here is always excellent, but they shorted me an order of beignets in the drive-thru and I did not realize it until I got back to my host’s house (I was buying that family breakfast). So that was a downer, not enough for all. Did not have time to drive back. Do better, folks, your menu is not complicated…

The beignets and coffee were hot and fresh. The staff was amazing! Liz was incredibly attentive and sweet. She checked in on us, giving us water and added more milk in our coffee. We’ll definitely come back here.

We had no line. The food was made fresh and right there. The space was clean and nice. It was the first time I had ever been to Cafe du Monde. Even though it was not the main location, it was lovely. The workers were very nice! Great spot to stop at.

The Reviewer

It was my first visit, and unfortunately, a bad experience. My friend had suggested this place, saying it was so popular in Louisiana, but I was instantly put off.

I went around 3:00 PM, and they were mopping the floor, filling the air with a nasty mop smell that instantly ruined the atmosphere.

The coffee I ordered (a half-and-half) tasted awful. I’m certain it was not a true half-and-half but closer to 99% coffee and 1% milk.

Their famous beignet was also a letdown—it looked unappetizing, as if it had been fried in dirty oil.

Overall, the visit was a huge disappointment

We love coming here. It’s always a treat. Miss Liz is the sweetest and always stops to talk with us. Even though we don’t get in very often, she always remembers us and asks us how we are doing. She always remembers to include my 11-year-old, who has been coming since she was about 2 years old.

Regardless of how often we come here, it’s always a wonderful experience.
