I’ve been coming here for years, food is always spot on, service is always amazing! Definitely the best biscuits and gravy in the area.
They open a new location in Gallatin, however, I prefer the original location, and to me is worth the drive!!
Our server with pink hair took about 20 minutes just to greet us. She was not running food or juggling tables. She was standing around talking to coworkers. We made eye contact several times before she finally came over. That is not being overwhelmed. That is ignoring your table.
We ordered regular drinks, including the $8 mimosa listed on the menu. After she dropped them off, we had to ask three separate times for straws. It took another 10 to 15 minutes just to get them.
The food took about an hour, which I understand. They were busy and kitchens get backed up. That is not the issue. The issue is that during that entire hour, she never checked on us once. No refills. No quick check in. Nothing.
When we finally got refills, I ordered another mimosa. When the check came, I was charged for a party size mimosa that is not even shown on the drink menu. When I pointed it out, she said, “I guess I should have asked what size you wanted,” then SNATCHED the receipt out of my hand, shook her head, adjusted it, and handed it back without an apology.
When I paid up front, I mentioned the behavior. I was offered $2 off a $50 tab. The discount was not the point. The lack of professionalism was.
I know this is a local, family owned spot, which is exactly why this needs to be addressed. The food was great with no issues at all, but the service left a bad impression. If this is the standard Café 393 holds for their staff, I am not sure I will be back.
Today we got fried chicken tenders and a meat and two eggs. The food was so good! The service was good, but took a while to get our food. But like I said, it’s worth the wait!!
Started the day today with a Father’s Day breakfast, simply the best breakfast restaurant in Hendersonville. Back Again. Mother’s Day was the bomb. Very busy, however, they were prepared with lots of friendly staff. They do it right here.
