We started with the burnt ends. I’m not going to lie, there were a few tough pieces, but as someone who smokes meat myself I tend to be a little more critical. 8/10
I ordered hard cider and was served a local brew with a frosted mug. It was delicious 10/10
I personally ordered the risotto with blackened chicken. The risotto flavor was spot on, albeit it could’ve cooked maybe 5 min longer. The chicken was cooked perfectly but was a tad salty. This dish normally comes with salmon and I should’ve let it because I think that would’ve been great 9/10
My bf ordered a platter with brisket, pulled pork, apple slaw, Mac and cheese and their cornbread fritter. That fritter is what you get if a red lobster biscuit had a baby with cornbread- so good. I’m not a slaw person, so no rating. The Mac was spot on. The pulled pork was great. The brisket was just a little dry, but again I’m judgey McJudgerstein. 9/10
I liked their horseradish sauce so much I bought two bottles.
I saw someone complaining about this place on Google within a week of our visit, and that guy was blowing smoke. This place is worth a visit, I wish it was closer to home. Check my reviews, I don’t mince words. My experience was good.
Waitress was great, she recommended a nice bottle of wine.
The menu definitely could have used a combo to accommodate for a date night, so we just got the brisket meal and added pulled pork, shrimp, and more sides. Our food came out and looked good. Unfortunately, the brisket and pulled pork were cold (not room temp). We told the waitress and she tool it back in the kitchen. It came back to us with flat top grill marks on the sides and still cold on the other slices. The shrimp was majorly overcooked at this point, so that was a loss.
The manager came and apologized, saying it’s smoked and the temps and such. Nice enough, but there is no way you can tell me that meat was from today, that was refrigerated cold.
I bet if it was fresh it would be great.
We ordered the Texas charcuterie and the turkey and brisket were extremely dry especially since there was no sauce. (Our first time so not sure if we were supposed to ask for BBQ sauce.) Pulled pork and ribs had good flavor but also dry. The collard greens and beans were delicious but the cornbread… dry AF! Sucked all moisture out of my mouth.
Also ordered the risotto without protein which was a tad undercooked but still creamy and flavorful and delicious.
The smoked salmon appetizer was excellent as was everything. Order the brussel sprouts.
Food was a bit pricey but very good and worth the price. Nice varied menu with an abundance of entrees, sides, and desserts.
I would definitely go back – but a little more effort on service could make this place a 4* or maybe 5. Good scenery. Nice location.
The tomahawk as pictured was really good very tasty, as well as the Pork sandwich, the St. Louis style ribs were too dry for
My taste but their brussle sprouts were good too!
Our waitress was super nice and overall the place is clean and nice.
