Although, they can get pretty busy at times which affects their service significantly (especially during football season). Overall, I would recommend this place to most people looking for good food and drinks.
Other times we’ve got a great server, usually on Fridays. They’re great on food, no problems, and consistent refills. But the weekend is usually bad on service, busy or not.
Today in particular, the chicken parm sandwich was so tough my father, grandfather, and I couldn’t chew it. My wrap was good, the soup was good, the ribs weren’t too meaty but were good, but the service left us all upset.
We did end up laughing because the server offered us a different knife for the tough chicken; as if that would fix its toughest. The chicken was, “tougher than a car tire.”
I didn’t know this place before we stopped. We were driving by and we were hungry.
Rishan ❤️ took our order after we found our seat. She is an excellent senior server. we just had the guac and chips for starters, I had a Miller high Life bottle and a shot of Jack. My wife had some lemonade. She had gotten the shrimp quesadilla, the shrimp were grilled which was nice. I had gotten the double cheeseburger with cheddar. And some coleslaw. Coleslaw was very good, the burgers were well done and had good flavor. Brennah ❤️ the kitchen shuttle server was very efficient and awesome. The interior of this establishment was loaded with screens, also jukebox, and video poker. It was really spotless, the bathrooms were super clean. I was very impressed with the effort put into this facility.
And then, I have to give honorable mention to one of the regulars, Brian! EX football player, basketball player, and a walking sports library. ️ He knows everyone, and in his recollections and experience make for some excellent listening. I have to admit I was entertained.
Our servers and the customers that we interacted with, were very kindly folks. And that, I really appreciate. Nowadays you won’t see that too often.
Thank you for the experience, Scores!
Next time we come in we’ll try the wings! I hear they’re the bomb diggity.
I ordered the chicken and wild rice soup, pretzel sticks, and two orders of wings (you have to order in increments of 10): 10 buffalo and 10 mango habanero for my daughter and me.
Starting with the soup—unfortunately, it had virtually no flavor and tasted like basic Progresso canned soup. Nothing memorable there.
Now for the wings… and this is where things really fell apart. These were, without exaggeration, some of the worst wings I’ve ever had. While they’re advertised as grilled, they very clearly seemed fried. The texture was tough like over-fried wings, and when I bit into them, grease literally poured out—straight oil. Nearly every wing was dry, overcooked, and chewy. We each managed about five wings before giving up, and the rest went straight into the trash.
On a positive note, the pretzel sticks were excellent—hands down the best part of the meal. We genuinely enjoyed those.
I might consider giving this place another chance, but it definitely won’t be for the wings. Maybe it was an off day, but based on this experience, I can’t recommend them.
I let the manager, Amy, know that we come here every week (usually on Wednesday for the wings & Cajun pasta) and that the Cajun pasta especially was inedible — completely different from what we normally get. I asked for that dish to be taken off the bill, as it was not even close to the usual quality. She took the plate and offered to remake it, but I declined since it was already poorly made the first time.
Amy then told me the owner said she couldn’t take it off or offer anything, which I found unbelievable. We paid the bill and will not be back. My boyfriend even started feeling sick before the Cajun pasta arrived.
I asked if there was a new cook, because the food had no flavor whatsoever. Amy’s response was, “I can’t take it off because you don’t like it or it’s not the same—it might just be a different cook.” But isn’t consistency exactly why customers return to restaurants?
Apparently, at Scores, they can serve bad food, make you pay for it, and add poor customer service on top. I truly hope the owner reconsiders their approach and that Amy receives proper management and customer service training.
Back to the toilet I go… (:
