Moving back to CCTX has been fun as I get to check out all the new (to me) venues. This venue, BAR (stands for Bar Under the Sun) is located in downtown Corpus Christi and was fun to check out. It happened to be a Sunday Funday type of day – hung out on the outside cocktail garden area which is pet friendly while listening to a local musician who is a lead singer of a band here. This upbeat establishment use to be the Greyhound Bus Station back in the day. The decor was chic & classy and loved the offered yard games. The signature cocktails were divine. The bartenders were so impressive. Parking was easy breezy. The atmosphere was sexy & attractive. There is a great food (kitchen) option but was so hungry that I failed to capture photos of Achiote Grilled Chicken Sandwich & Pimento Cheese Firecrackers; maybe next time. I would definitely go back here for a future happy hour, etc.

Had a great time tonight at the Ally the Piper concert. Can’t comment on the food since they ran out of everything I wanted to try, which is probably a sign that it would have been good. I can recommend the Rye Tai. A very tasty cocktail.

I’m extremely disappointed with how this bar venue handled our experience while setting up for a wedding. The manager was rude and made unnecessary comments, which immediately set a negative tone.
When we arrived, the event area was not clean. We asked staff four different times if the space would be cleaned or swept. Each time we were told, “Okay, I’ll let someone know,” but nothing was ever done. When we specifically asked to speak to the manager about getting the venue cleaned, she never came out to speak with us.
Because of this, we were forced to clean the space ourselves—picking up trash, cigarette butts, and other debris—while trying to set up for a wedding. This was especially frustrating considering we had over 100 guests, all of whom brought significant business to the bar throughout the event.
This level of unprofessionalism and lack of basic cleanliness is completely unacceptable for a venue hosting large events. I would not recommend this bar venue based on poor management, lack of communication, and failure to provide a clean event space. Unfortunately I have been hired 3 times to decorate for different occasions and all 3 times we have had the same type of service.

The best bar in Corpus Christi several years in a row, and for good reason. Eclectic local liquors (from DAL, HOU, AUS) plus high-end options like Stagg on occasion. Super knowledgeable, chill staff. Sharp merch. Adirondacks surrounded by flowering vines. Food trucks are decent, too.

Bar Under the Sun was fantastic! Great food, delicious drinks, and friendly service. Great space for events and activities for sure!!

Not going to lie was a little skeptical about going here, but man, what a vibe! There is plenty of room and love the stage outside. The two sky scrappers really give it a cool atmosphere with it looming over the bar. The Bus has good service and nice bartenders.
The food is spicy, so be careful what you order, especially the plabonos!

You order drinks inside and food at the trailer outside. Service was great. It is really family and pet friendly. They have water bowls around the outside and yard games. Again the food was great. The drinks were well made.

The atmosphere was beyond lovely and beautiful. The workers had an amazing attitude and answered any questions you had. The cost for a carafe of Mimosa was priced very decent for the amount that you receive. The food that they offered at brunch time was very appetizing. Will definitely be back and will be spreading the word about this place.
