We recently visited Burntwood Tavern in Beachwood and had a mixed experience. The food was great, but unfortunately, the service left a lot to be desired.

When our server first approached, she greeted us by saying we were “lucky” to have her, which set an odd tone from the start. After taking our drink order, she disappeared, and we didn’t see her again for the rest of the night. I eventually had to go to the bar myself to get our drinks, which were excellent by the way. Surprisingly, another table followed my lead and got their own drinks too, even though they had a different server. It seems the slow service is a common issue here.

As for the food, it was delicious. I had the special Asiago-crusted chicken, which was cooked perfectly, and my husband’s steak was also very good. We loved the tater tots, and the tuna nachos (another special) were a nice addition to the meal.

In summary, while we really enjoyed the food and drinks, the slow and inattentive service put a damper on the evening. With better hospitality, this could have been a five-star experience.

I have been to other Burntwood locations and have always enjoyed their food and atmosphere, but this location was a big disappointment on a Saturday evening for dinner! It was not busy, maybe 3 tables and 8 people at the bar. We stood waiting to be seated for 5 minutes, when finally the bartender came over to seat us and said he didn’t know where his hostess was at, that should have been a sign to leave then. I ordered a cheeseburger, cooked medium, with parmigiana truffle fries. What I received was a burger cooked well done and regular fries. When he brought the food out, I reminded him that I ordered the parmigiana truffle fries, and he returned with a side plate of fries with sprinkled parmigiana cheese. When I cut my burger in half, it was well done, and when I told the waiter, he looked at it and said well I put down medium… and then simply walked away. Never once asked if I wanted it cooked correctly. Never saw the waiter again until we were getting ready to leave. Never asked it we wanted refills on drinks. Instead, it sounded like they were in the back laughing and having a good old time, and we were just an inconvenience. Service like that, I would never return to this location and would recommend others to avoid this location as well!

This has healed my heart from the loss of my favorite restaurant. The service was excellent. Management was attentive and greeted guests. We had children so they seated us closer to the front so as to minimize irritation to other diners. It was a very enjoyable time plus the food was great! I hadn’t had a drink in a while so I was not fully prepared for my strawberry lemonade. I honestly only just decided to even write a review. They’re rare for me. I was just that impressed I wanted to speak on how great an experience I had. Management stated he was new there. I hope he stays. The atmosphere is truly enjoyable. They’ll see us again.

My friend and I visited during a little reunion trip. The decor of the place is amazing. They have hand blown glass from a local place that also does lessons for people interested in trying the craft! Everyone we interacted with were nice and friendly. They were also very knowledgeable. Brian was our server and was very straight forward and down to earth, very chill. He was very helpful in helping me make a choice on drinks and food, and he was very attentive. He saw that my friend’s burger was overcooked, and had it corrected without any fuss or problem. Overall our visit was relaxing and nice, and we did not feel that fast pace atmosphere that you can sometimes get at restaurants. After 11 hours of collective driving, it was just what we needed. Thank you, Brian!

PS the food AND drinks were delicious. We got a dark and stormy and strawberry lemonade cocktail, as well as the tater tots from the appetizer menu fish and chips, and the burntwood burger. Everything was great

One of my new favorite restaurants! Great food, excellent service, awesome atmosphere. Our waitress was amazing. The bar is also very nice with a variety of good drinks. They have a real fireplace that gives the restaurant a wonderful smell right when you walk in. It’s located right off the interstate, so it’s easy to get to.

Flatbread pizza was tasty, but cold.
Lobster bisque was nice.
We ordered sweet potato fries, but were served regular fries. Crispy chicken sandwich was HUGE!

Our second trip to a Burntwood location , service and food was once again top notch.

You cannot go wrong with the chicken (Nashville hot) sliders or the fried cod fish tacos. They look like a mess , but they are piled high and delicious.

Will always stop either here or in North Olmsted when traveling through Cleveland !

Come see Frank, he was our waiter, excellent guy, very knowledgeable about the restaurant. We came for lunch so it wasn’t crowded, the chefs were on point with the cooking, the price point was great, you don’t mind spending the money if the food is excellent! Definitely will be back, check out the photos!!

Ordered the Chicken Piccata, it was overcooked as were the potatoes. Even on a busy night the service was very good. Our waitress informed us ahead of time that it may be slow but we appreciated the communication, most places would just keep you guessing.

Stopped here for lunch. It was not very busy at that time. I got the Cajun Chicken Alfredo; it was very good (although my wife tasted it and said it had a little too much garlic for her). The wife had a salad and half of a flat-bread pizza. She raved about the salad, For dessert we had the Lava Cake.
