If you are looking for “authentic”, don’t go here.
If you want interesting flavoured food then, yes, do go here.
This review is for those people actually looking for “authentic”.
Do not get the Rainbow Salad. Lacking some ingredients, especially the tamarind sauce. When asked for tamarind sauce, I was brought DILUTED Chinese sweet and sour sauce! No tamarind in sight. It was confirmed by the server that this was Burma Roots’ “tamarind” sauce.
The Fish Chowder Noodle Soup (Moat Hingar) was another miss. This dish is a Burmese staple for goodness sake. Get it right. Not a fish in sight. (At least nothing that resembled fish). And tasteless.
The Coconut Noodles Soup (0hn Noe Kout Swel) was acceptable. I would order this again.
I frequent the BURMA TWO restaurant in Walnut Creek.
No contest. BURMA TWO wins by miles. And they spell the name of the Burmese food correctly.
Again, if you are NOT looking for “authentic”, I WOULD recommend eating here just to get a flavour of another country’s food, albeit non-authentic.

First time there. Food was great. Service was good. Atmosphere was surprisedly very western. Since I am not an expert on Burmese cuisine, I cannot quite tell if the food was authentic or not.

Went on a Saturday evening with friends. No problem getting a table for 6 at 7:30 pm. Very good food. Reasonably priced for the Bay Area. We had the tea leaf salad, minced jalapeños chicken, House noodle with shrimp and all of it was good. Public Parking lot right behind the restaurant.

Samosas are fine but there is no tamarind sauce. Some in our party loved the samosa soup; some were less enchanted. The Burnese curry was delicious. Mango chicken was reported to be excellent. Burmese string beans were very tasty. Wait staff attentive, excellent. Bring a sweater for outdoor tables in the evening.

Fast, friendly and quite delicious! I would have loved a squeeze of lemon on our tea leaf salad but the portions were lovely and generous for two people :).

Ordered take out so my review is based solely on food. The place does loom nice and it does seem like a chill place to eat. I ordered the tea leaf salad, nan gyi dok, ginger pork, and chicken biryani. Tea leaf salad was only lettuce. No cabbage. The nan gyi dok was kind of bland. Expected more flavor and the chicken was kinda dry. The ginger pork was nice as there were decent strips of ginger and the ginger flavor was strong.
Overall, the food is average, as other Burmese places are better, but there are so few around. I do hope they succeed though. Don’t expect much getting ethnic food in Willow Glen.

Oh my God! Where did this place come from?! We were sat in a beautiful outdoor patio with plants and a fountain in the square and when the food came it looked Ike it was right out of a Food Network competition. After the first bite you could instantly tell it was fresh food and they had a serious chef and staff. The crazy part? It was ~$50 for my wife and I with an appetizer.
The lamb in my chow mein was fantastic. The samosas were also fantastic.

NEW RESTAURANT ALERT!! New Burmese place in Willow Glen and this makes me so happy. Great food – we ordered samosas, palata, tea leaf salad, stir fry tofu, crispy chicken and rice. Food was delish, my 3 year son enjoyed it too. Great indoor outdoor seating

Came here on Mother’s Day and got a generally excellent experience. The waiters are kind, positive, and quick – we got our food in under 10 minutes. The food itself is great with large portion sizes, especially the samosa soup and desserts. My only complaint is that the spice level was fairly low.
