So ordering on a screen when you come in was new for me. Wondered if I would still be able to mix chocolate and strawberry in the shake. To my delight there was a notes section that allowed me to notated “mix w Strawberries”. And they did. I find in so someone brought me the shake as soon as it was ready so that it wouldn’t melt. So appreciated! Tried the Italian bites for the 1st time. When they arrived, I thought “that’s it? Looks small and only 3?” But they are delicious and filling. Fries are no longer coated. Not sure when that changed but happy it did 🙂

Disappointed! Buona Beef is one of my go to spots when craving a good Italian Beef. I live near the Oak Park location and the fact that they have a drive thru is a plus. I’m not sure who is working the kitchen, but my guess is that they assume that all Italian beefs are ordered the same. I ordered food for a family of 6 and made sure to order all of our beefs baptized per their menu option. Well, our beefs were not only DRY! They had the smallest amount of beef between the lightly moist bread. You would think I used a coupon for a free sandwich, in which I could possibly see their logic behind less meat, BUT, we paid full price for a poorly made meal.The amount of time that we waited at the drive thru to what seemed like a slow night for the establishment didn’t bother me so much, UNTIL I reached in to the bag and noticed the NOT so HOT fries!

Despite the traffic this is a location that inspired me to enjoy the franchise. At first I found all of the Buona beef corporation to be aloof, in the distant and somewhat vague although this location made it apparent as an excellent drive-thru option. Taste is good, love how you can add cheese and still has that hint of a true Chicago taste. The staff always curtails to my orders with extra effort. This was always my go to restaurant for lunch. The service has gone down. Portion sizes are smaller. I placed an order to go on June 30th and for the first time I was going to try the rainbow slice cake. Right when I was about to walk out they told me they did not have the cake and they would refund me. I never received my refund. Very disappointing. Now this is my last resort restaurant.
