Stopped by as part of a group to get bubble tea. I ordered the mango matcha milk tea with the regular tapioca pearl/boba. The boba was not bad, and the drink itself was decent. However, I could not really taste the mango part, which was disappointing. Another person in the group tried the golden boba and he did not really like it, so it’s probably better to stick with the regular boba.

It’s really really pretty inside and it was pretty crowded. I was really excited for my food to come out but when it did, it all kinda tasted off? I tried the pork belly bowl and crab rangoons and also ordered a taro tea. The cream cheese in the rangoons tasted really gross for some reason, and the pork belly was dry and not soft and tender like when you make it at home. I will say the taro tastes really good but the milk was too creamy for me. Definitely a bit overrated for the price.

This used to be one of my favorite spots to get boba and eat at, but recently the food prices have gone way up and the portions feel smaller than before (Bao used to be $7 and now it’s 9-something). Their online and in-store menus all have different prices, so you don’t really know what you’re paying till you order it.

Ok so I really wanted to like this place. I ignored the other reviews that said overpriced and underwhelming so please believe the reviews.

So working the night shift here downtown and after staring at this place for the last few months I decided to give it a go. Man, I wish I could of talked myself out of it.

Budacai Boba Bar Bites, located in downtown Raleigh is the newest boba tea bar that features bar drinks and appetizers. The décor is fantastically decorated with Dragon Ball theme. The giant Monkey King statue is amazing and the artwork surrounding the walls is phenomenal. Upstairs level is a nice lounge where you can eat and chill with your friends. Be sure to take advantage of the selfie station with selfie lighting to take pictures of you and your friends.

Parking isn’t fun around here but the place itself always satisfies. Classic drinks and selection of tasty foods. Love the brown sugar milk tea but it goes quick/isn’t always available.

Enjoyed the tagaroshi fries and a bowl…the flavors were excellent. The watermelon tea takes a bit of time to get use to…the basil seeds and some other herb (that tasted like lavender smells) add a strong floral note.
