This place, like many struggled during COVID but have definitely turned the corner from those dark times. New ownership (I think) has definitely freshened up the inside while maintaining the “Up North” atmosphere. The menu is mostly unchanged, but the food quality and service are back up to par. They do have pretty darn good , but I think one day I will have to do a direct taste test against one from the Swiss Inn to ultimately decide which is the best.

Just when the pizza was starting to get better again after several owner changes, we had a pizza come out hard on the bottom and goo on top(cooked too fast). Asked for no mushrooms on half, but received mushrooms all over. Supposed to have garlic butter on the crust, that didn’t happen either. Usually, the toppings are overwhelming and that’s the reason people come here. Stuff happens, I get that. I’ve been coming here for over 20 years.

First time but definitely not the last. We started with Buck Nuts—i could have made a meal out these! They were so good. It was a Tuesday so we went with a couple of specials–wet burrito and Nachos. Both were good, Nachos were piled high, hubby couldn’t finish but said they were good as was the wet burrito. Waitress brought us drink refills without asking when she saw we were low, very pleasant too.

Love this place! The food is consistently good. Honestly… the best Reuben ever and the breadsticks are nothing you have ever tasted before!! These are not your run of the mill bread sticks, you have to try them to understand! The wonton poppers and Rut Burger are crazy good! Don’t even get me started on the pizza!!! Don’t go here If you want “fast food”! This is not a fast food joint. Come order a drink (my favorite is the 32oz draft!!) the waitstaff will keep it full while you wait for your food. I guarantee you it is worth the wait!!!

Kelly, our waitress, was outstanding. Her laugh filled the room, and her recommendations for food were humorous. The pizza is some of the best we’ve had, and we’d highly recommend it. Plates of other food items looked delicious as we saw Kelly bringing it out to other tables. This is a newer, improved Buckhorn from the place we used to come to, pre-pandemic.

The decor and ambiance of this place made it seem like a fun place to eat out with the family. The service was probably the worst I’ve ever had. We were a family of 4 and none of our food came even close to each other. Everyone’s meals showed up a good 5-10 minutes apart from each other, with my youngest’s chicken tenders being last. Any parent knows how frustrating that is. Our table was never cleared, of anything. After we placed our order we had to take the giant menus up to the bar and set them down ourselves and we were stacking empty cups and plates all over the window sill.

Well if you want cold food that tasted day old, brought to you 43 mins BEFORE everyone else’s food was brought to them, then go here. Not very friendly wait staff and acted more like it was our fault we had to wait 47 mins to get our food that was ordered BEFORE the other group that walked in. Got regular pop for diet with 2 diabetics at table. Then never came back by to ask if anyone wanted a refill. Way more attention being paid to the regulars drinking at the bar then the customers that was going to have a $100 order ( before some of it was cancelled because of the taste)I know I will never be back.

Honestly was an amazing burger first night mushroom Swiss was delicious big and juicy. The seasoned fries were so crispy and satisfying I dipped them in the beercheese I got from the best pretzel bites I’ve ever had. Today I had the best French dip sandwich with excellent aujus Also the side of crispy fresh onion rings I loved these! And I also had some of the pizza my grandpa had a pepperoni and mushroom Super great pizza.
