Fried calamari was lightly battered and well seasoned, not much flavor of the squid. Good marinara for it.

The fried mozzarella looked burnt but doesn’t taste burnt. Nice and crispy, good stretch on the mozzarella. Not much other flavor but the frying and melted mozzarella holds up well.

Not a fan of the garlic bread, not enough garlic flavor, feels like they just sprinkled garlic powder on bread and baked it. The bread is soft with a crunchy outside, so that’s nice.

Good caesar salad, nice dressing, fresh lettuce and seasoned cruton. The portion size is a bit smaller than expected but still very decent.

Got the new Italian sausage pappardelle. The pasta is well cooked, slight chew. The sauce is well seasoned with good depth of flavor, lightly spicy. Good spinach, cooked well but not wilted. Very good and medium spicy sausage, heavily salted so need the pasta pairing. It’s a smaller-ish portion compared to others but you get plenty of meat compared to pasta so it’s still worth it.

Our server Troy was fantastic!

What an amazing place to have in Minneapolis! The very first Boca di Beppo ever! I love all of the old photos and celebrity memorabilia. The service has always been great and the e food has always been amazing! The bathrooms are small yet clean. If you have never been here before, everything is served family style so come hungry!!

We recently went to Buca with our DECA group, and it was such a fun experience. The family-style dining made it perfect for a big group like ours because everyone could share and try different dishes. The portions were huge, and the food was flavorful and authentic — especially the pasta and garlic bread. Everything came out hot and fresh, and our table never felt like we were waiting too long. The atmosphere was one of the best parts. The restaurant has a super unique, lively Italian theme with fun decor all over the walls, which made it feel more like an experience than just a dinner. It was loud in a good way — energetic and perfect for a group of high school students celebrating and bonding. The service was also great. Our server was patient, organized, and handled our large DECA group really well, making sure we had refills and everything we needed. Overall, Buca di Beppo was a great choice for a team dinner. Good food, big portions, and a fun atmosphere — definitely a place I would go back to.

Spendy so make sure it’s a special occasion. Our server tried his best but had a lot of big tables. Don’t order the margaritas… very disappointed in that. The brownie sundae was HUGE!

Buca de Pepo in Minneapolis is an absolute gem! We went for a big family celebration, and it exceeded every expectation. The moment you walk in, you’re hit with that fun, nostalgic Italian vibe—walls covered in quirky photos, checkered tablecloths, and the smell of fresh garlic bread wafting from the kitchen. It’s like stepping into a lively Little Italy from the movies!
We ordered family-style (the only way to go here), and the portions are massive—perfect for sharing. The Chicken Parmigiana was crispy, cheesy perfection, the Spaghetti with giant meatballs had us fighting for seconds, and don’t even get me started on the Baked Ziti—creamy, bubbly, and loaded with flavor. The garlic bread? Out of this world, and the tiramisu for dessert sealed the deal—rich, coffee-soaked heaven.
Our server was incredibly friendly, attentive, and kept the wine flowing without missing a beat. The atmosphere is loud, warm, and full of energy—ideal for groups, date nights, or pre-theater dinner (it’s super close to the Orpheum). We left stuffed, happy, and already planning our next visit. If you’re craving hearty, authentic-tasting Italian food in a fun setting, Buca de Pepo is a must-try. Easily 5 stars—highly recommend!

The food was amazing as always! I love going to Bucas because the atmosphere is so romantic and beautifully detailed. It was such a busy night on Valentine’s Day, but the staff were very efficient and friendly. I was impressed with how quickly they seated us and brought us our food. I noticed they even managed to seat people who did not make a reservation which was kind. And although it was busy, it wasn’t too loud. Wonderful experience, definitely recommend!

This spot competes with Little Italy in NYC… Underground, cozy, eclectic, homey, authentic, and FANTASTIC. Our server, Rich, was attentive and wonderful as well. We came as a family (two husbands + nearly 4 year old) and can’t wait to visit again (we live in Mpls). 10/10 recommend.
