Not all Bookakoos are created equal… and this Washington Street location is the overachiever of the family.
From the staff to the manager, everyone here is genuinely wonderful. You can tell they actually care about their customers—not just about moving burritos out the door. That alone already puts them ahead, but then there’s the food. My chicken bowl and burritos were delish: fresh ingredients, great flavor, and noticeably bigger portions than other locations (yes, I noticed and yes, I appreciated it).
We had a little hiccup with an Uber Eats order, but the manager and staff handled it l—extremely accommodating, kind, and quick to sort everything out without any attitude. That kind of service is rare these days.
I literally travel 30 minutes just to come to this specific Bookakoos on Washington Street, and I’ll happily keep doing it. Totally worth the drive, every time. I’ll definitely be back.

A young Indian woman provided terrible service. She treated me very poorly and, because I wasn’t paying attention, gave me the wrong order. When I got home to eat it, I saw that it was only one burrito with different flavors and ingredients, and I live far from the restaurant. The woman needs to learn more about customer service or control herself better! Thank you for your attention!
I have also bought many burritos before and this one was too small for the price.

I ordered a chicken burrito and a burrito, also the crispy tacos and it’s came with zero toppings, barley any meat and it looked like it was some one else’s leftovers. What a rip off! I didn’t have time to call and try to get the order issue fixed because we were in need of something quick and easy to have before leaving our hotel.

The food here is good, but the woman with glasses working the counter was very rude. Her customer service was disappointing and she made it clear she did not want to be there. Management may want to address this because experiences like this can cause customers to stop coming back.

First time trying Bubbakoo’s. This location was opened a couple days ago in the heart of University Heights.
Ordered the Crispy bacon sriracha ranch quesadilla and it was amazingly delicious!
Chicken tasted super tender and fresh, I replaced the sauce for a garlic parm sauce and it was the perfect combination. Juicy, fresh, seasoning was just right and the tortilla had the perfect crunch.
I was the first customer to walk in before opening, lady working at the counter was very sweet and let me wait inside until they would officially open. And I am glad she did, because it was really cold out today!
They also offer student discount to all Rutgers and NJIT students ️

I ordered “Taco Trio” Hard Shell which comes with 3 tacos. for $15 just to get 1 soggy taco. Not even in their companies bag but a wrapped up platic bag that you get from the corner stor. When i called to inquire, they didnt want to to put a mamanger on the phone, keept hanging up. This is the worst. Why would anyone pay $15 for ONE TACO that looks like i got it out the bodega. this location never again. Corprate needs to have a talk with them if their not private. I am worst upset because it was my birthday

Received 90% rice in my guac bowl. I had selected jalapeno topping and just received 3 slices for extra dollars!
Curly fries with queso is so misleading as it didn’t have queso AT ALL!
Chicken burritos size decreased by half and was messy!
Never ordering from here again. Save yourself some money and go to other stores!

The food seemed good when I had a look at the menu in the app and I had the burrito and bowl but both of them were bland. They could have had way more seasoning and especially spice. The first time I got the burrito, I was surprised to not that much flavor except for the occasional bit of corn and other ingredients but there was not much to it. The second time I got the bowl, I made sure I added the highest spice possible and it was still the same flavor, with minimal spice and searing. Taking in both the times I ate and I wasn’t really having it, it’s 50-50 on whether I should come here again.
