If you want next-level sushi and an unforgettable experience, ask for Dae. Period.
From the moment we sat down, Dae brought passion, precision, and pride to every single plate. The sushi was immaculately prepared, insanely fresh, and beautifully presented—every bite balanced, bold, and absolutely addictive. You can tell immediately that this isn’t just a job for him… it’s an art.
What really sets Dae apart is the experience. Watching him work behind the bar, you can see the care and skill that goes into every roll. Friendly, focused, and clearly a master of his craft—he made us feel welcome and taken care of the entire time.
Hands down some of the best sushi we’ve had, not just in Billings, but anywhere. If you’re going to Nara Sushi and you don’t sit with Dae, you’re missing out.
We’ll be back again and again.
10/10. Highly recommend.
We went on a Saturday night and were immediately seated. The staff was really friendly, but there was only one server for the restaurant. It was a little slow, but not too bad.
We ordered two entries which also came with miso soup and ginger salad. The soup was amazing. We easily could have had a second portion. The salad though, it was drowned in a soy dressing. There wasn’t anything ginger about it. When I say drowned, there was easily a quarter cup left in the bowl when I was finishing. It was just too much.
I ordered the Korean chicken fried rice and my wife ordered the bulgogi. The Korean chicken was just one flavor, salt. It was so incredibly salty. It was hard to eat without lots of water to wash it down. The bulgogi was delicious and less salty.
In all, I’d try it again, but with different dinners. I’m not sure if that is normal or an off night.
The service is exceptional; the staff is friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about the food they serve. Despite being a small building with limited seating, this “hole in the wall” has a cozy charm that makes it feel special. It’s the kind of place you want to keep returning to, whether for a casual meal or a special occasion. Don’t miss out on this local gem!
Place to get quality sushi! I have always had a great experience. Staff is refreshing and always great!
