I’ve heard so many great comments about this restaurant and it did not disappoint! I had an omelet burrito and fries, so tasty and filling! I also got to taste the carne asada fries and refried beans from other plates and they were both so good. I loved reading about the history of the restaurant on the menu, it made eating here even more special

Tiny hole in the wall Mexican food place that’s been in the same location opened by the same family for decades. The best tacos you’ll ever eat, the most amazingly delicious red salsa ever made and I’ve tasted plenty. In my opinion its the best. The service is always immaculate. The atmosphere friendly and homey. Its like eating at your best friends Nana’s house. I would recommend this place to anyone driving through winslow, az and wanting some fresh homemade Mexican food.

When I went through Winslow on my honeymoon in 1973 we ate in a little Mexican cafe and had our first sopapillas there. This Brown Mug Cafe is a direct descendant of that cafe and owned by the same family. What a thrill when my waitress told me this! Nice small town cafe with great staff.

This is a wonderful little diner in Winslow. The food is diner-quality, and quite good. I can tell it was made fresh for me.
Everything was made to order and correct. The complimentary salsa was very spicy.
The coffee was hot, and of good quality.

Phenomenal food! We came into Winslow looking to dine at the Turquoise Room. But found the prices were higher. So we came across the street to this casual diner and the food was out of this world Chile Relleno and and Navajo Taco. Highly recommend!!!

My husband and I were passing by Winslow. I saw this place offered menudo and was sold. As of this writing their online ordering system might be a little finnicky. Our payment went thru but they didn’t get the order and were very kind and apologetic about it by the time we swung by to pick it up (s’all good accidents happen, even with online systems).
While waiting for the order they offered us chips, salsa and drinks on the house. I didn’t think I’d eat those chips so quickly but the salsa was so good.
Later we got our food and goodness we were blown away. The menudo hit the spot, my husband said the enchiladas were the best he’s ever had, and it was our first time enjoying fresh sopapillas. Legit one of our favorite breads now. I can see why this place is a gem with its great food and kind staff.
If we lived nearby we would frequent this place regularly.
