I’ve been here before which is why I came back with friends. We ordered soup, a pizza and what was called a steak fajita. We sat over 90 minutes waiting for this without any updates or contact from our waitress. My “steak” fajita had an ounce of shaved steak in a very large taco shell filled with lettuce. We sat another 45 minutes waiting for our check and a refill on a glass of water. What happened to this place??

Had dinner with my wife tonight and it was fantastic. The house dressing is phenomenal (along with crumbly blue). We both had the chicken french and it was the best we have ever had. Tangy and flavorful with tender chicken breasts that were NOT over done. Our waiter Michael was attentive and had a great personality. If you haven’t been there yet then give them a try. You won’t be disappointed.

A group of 8 of us went here for my birthday dinner. We were seated immediately because we had made a reservation and our waitress started out great. However, our experience quickly turned. We waited over 30 minutes for our food order to be taken, and then an HOUR AND A HALF for the food to actually come out. One of our friends arrived a bit late (about 15 minutes after we ordered) and decided since we were waiting, to go ahead and order a pizza. That came out in about 10 minutes and he was done and paid long before our food came. Only once did the waitress come back to our table in that time so we could order more drinks and told us our ticket was next in the kitchen….yet it was still another 45 minutes before we had food. The second time she came over was because we called her over to order more drinks. We all agree that the food itself was pretty good, but not worth an hour and a half wait. There was no apology from anyone about the wait, so one of our friends asked if we could have some type of accommodation for being so patient (we never complained about the ridiculously long wait). Ultimately, they took off a round of drinks, which only included some of that round. We paid all on one bill to make it easy for them, but two days later our account showed we were charged for the initial total and again for that total plus the tip. I called and the manager quickly refunded the amount without the tip (although it was a few cents short we didn’t say anything) and told me their “system had glitched” the night we were there. If they knew that, why hadn’t they gone back and checked all the charges from that night and righted the mistake themselves? Overall, food was good but the service (mainly whatever was going on in the kitchen) and lack of communication didn’t leave us thrilled and definitely not planning to go back. Everything on the menu can be ordered elsewhere with better service.

Brody’s On The Bay is a comfortable, bay view experience with wonderful lively staff. The service was top notch. Our waiter was polite and helpful. Even with a bad knee we were able to sit outside. Now that is true service. Let’s talk about the food. The Caesar salad was tasty, the dressing was nice and the addition of bacon added good flavor. The pizza was spectacular… the brick oven showcases a crispy crust, with hot juicy toppings. The steak was cooked well although it lacked some seasoning. However I was disappointed with the chicken sandwich. When you see “buttermilk fried chicken sandwich” you think a thick piece of chicken. But the chicken seemed frozen, and cafeteria quality. I would loved to have seen hand cut fries with a nice slab of chicken. The bread it too overpowering, but the Chipotle Mayo was good. Overall I would recommend.

Service was decent. Our pizzas were fine. Crust wasn’t too bad but a lot of cheese and not a whole lot of flavor. Our Palomas were pretty weak – too heavy with club soda and not balanced at all.

We had a TERRIBLE first experience there today for brunch. We had reservations for a party of 9 to celebrate my son’s confirmation, and Brody’s legitimately ruined the day. Our waitress was obviously having a really bad day from the moment we came in, so the attitude was rough from the start. She told us that they discontinued their BOGO brunch drinks that morning and wouldn’t honor it despite it still being on the website currently and it being valid when we booked. We waited 30 minutes just to get burnt coffee, and then a total of over an hour for our food, which was terrible. For instance – two members of our party were given tater tots with their breakfast instead of home fries, without anyone mentioning it or asking if it was an okay substitution. Our breakfast pizza was cold, our French toast was brought with the wrong fruit on top, and our waffles literally tasted like they were mixed in a dirty bowl and the weird off flavor was so profound that I had to send them back, but the waitress took so long that I had to go to the hostess and ask for help and the waitress still took another 15 minutes to come back and by that point brunch was over. So my family had to give me portions of their food so I could eat. The waitress’ attitude was SO NASTY despite us being as kind, patient, and understanding as possible, especially about the food (she didn’t cook it). But the waits, the rudeness, being given dirty plates, and everything else was inexcusable. And we still spent $200 with tax and tip. Ridiculous.

I really wanted to like this place. My wife and I have been here a few times prior. It’s a beautiful atmosphere right on the water. The last time we were here they dropped our food before it came out but didn’t tell us until we got our food but that was after about an hour.

The food was delicious! We started with calamari as an appetizer and it was perfectly prepared. We ordered Brody’s butter burger, steak and shrimp scampi for our entree’s. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive. The restaurant is beautifully decorated in a nautical theme with views of the bay. We loved the outdoor seating area for cocktails. I would highly recommend Brody’s and we will be repeat customers.

The drinks were good, lots of good beers on tap to choose from. Decent wines too. Then the food. The calamari and pizza came out together. The calamari needed to be fried at a higher temperature, it just wasn’t crispy. The pizza was thin as a wood fire pizza should be yet chewy like the dough was overworked and the gluten never had an opportunity to rise. Our server was also good enough but unexcited to be there and so was I.

This restaurant is a really great addition to the bay area. If you want good seafood and good atmosphere it is a must to go try out Brody’s. It also comes with a great story and the family is amazing and really cares about how your experience is. You will often see them roaming around the dining room asking how your meal is which is a great part to any restaurant. The cocktail menu is so creative you’ll want to try them all. We had a variety of apps that were all delicious. My favorite was the crab dip and also the shrimp cocktail which were huge. I also had the NY strip steak that was cooked to perfection and so flavorful. I highly recommend this restaurant and will be spending many of my summer nights with my friends here.
