Where to start. Okay. We went on Valentines day for a SPECIAL Occasion. We all understand that when a friend recommends a place for a ‘Nice’ dinner we were excited. I made plans. Weeks in advance got the reservation. I was excited to take my sweetheart there. Steak for me, seafood for her, perfect. Until we got there… we had to wait as there were not enough wait/cleaning staff to clear. The mgr sent the hostess to clear the table, okay…but. We are seated and the waiter was warm and welcoming, getting our sodas and coming back for our orders. Then it began, my steak and fries came out cold, , and my wife’s mushroom ravioli came out, uh, wait she ordered the lobster and shrimp. We asked for the mgr and he came over and saw that it was cold AND the wrong order. He apologized and said they would redo them both. They did, and it came out later hot this time, and shrimp and lobster was corrected. The steak was mediocre at best, a bit tough, and they forgot the seasoning. The seafood was good, good enough that she said we should give them one more chance…. at the end, when we were waiting for the check, one of the waitstaff came over and told us that we needed to leave because someone else had reserved the table. Apparently no one told him that we had just got our meals and finished them quickly. All in all, a solid 2 star, but my wife says we should try one more time, NOT when they are slammed on a holiday. So we will try once more, fingers crossed….

While I was in Fredericksburg for business I wanted to miss the traffic before heading back to Northern Virginia. I decided to have dinner at Brock’s since it had good reviews.
Our waiter was Sam was a young guy who was VERY ATTENTIVE, nice and provided top notch service!!
Before they bring the bread, I would ask for the olive oil and garlic without the balsamic vinaigrette glaze. In my opinion it tastes better without the glaze.
The prices were reasonable and the steak prices were about the same price as a steakhouse. I may have to try a steak next time as I saw numerous Customers who ordered steaks.
I gave them a 4 instead of a 5 for the following reasons:
• There was an up charged everything which was including several items after 4 pm, which was ANNOYING. I ordered a side salad and was charged $4 because I didn’t choose the green beans. And then baked potato was $5 up charge.
• I asked to sit by the window with the view, however the Hostess said the seats were for reservations only. Not knowing this it was a little frustrating. I would think they save a few tables for walk-in’s. The Hostess offered the patio, however they open at 4 pm and arriving around 4:10 pm the Hostess said it wasn’t warm yet.
• I ordered the chicken breast dish on the menu. It was a breast and drum stick. I personally don’t eat dark meat and had I known, I wouldn’t have ordered the dish. To their credit they allowed me to order the salmon instead.
I’ll try and go back the next time I’m in Fredericksburg, now that I know the pitfalls, I’ll keep those in mind the next time I visit.

We’ve wanted to stop by a few times passing it. We finally Did!!!! After church we came through and it was SOOOOOO worth the visit. Everything we had from the crab dip/Green tomatoes and mini crab cakes to the french toast brunch we had was amazing. Our waiter was great. Our cups never emptied (Diet Coke) we sat outside and it was sooo nice! I will definitely recommend a visit if you’re in the area. We are stopping by again this evening for dinner. So get ready for more pictures.
We made it in today for dinner. Food was still Delicious. Definitely stop in for great food and great views over the water.

Mike is a great waiter and the food was delicious with generous portions. The mushroom raviolis are my favorite! Along with the inbone pork chop, prime rib steak with the delicious sauce over it, and always the burger with sweet potatoe waffle fries. And of course the crispy brussel sprouts appetizer. Brock’s is one of our favorite restaurants. Love the food!

Had lunch twice so far and was not disappointed. The food is great and the service is also. The first time I was seated outside and it was great, the second time we were inside, the view was amazing, but the noise level was insane. Could not have a normal conversation. But I will be back since everything else is fantastic.

It is hard to separate the experience at Brock’s when you leave and find your car has been towed!! It isn’t hard for Brock’s to put a notice on their door or front desk or as they seat you…. Did you park in one of the spaces to the left of our door? If so move your car to the “lot” which is the same lot as those permit spaces but further left. The address on the signage and Brock’s is the SAME, 503 Sophia Street.
So although the food was Ok and our waitress great; I will NOT go back. When we (4 of us were towed) went back inside; Rick passed it off “I saw the tow truck!” So yes they are aware it’s an issue and do NOTHING to assist their customers. Again a simple sign on your door as we enter.
My Ruben was a little dry and bread hard; the corn beef was outstanding and lean. Sweet fries are wonderful as well.

First, let me say that Lilly was a wonderful waitress. Sweet, kind and very friendly. She gets 5 stars. I feel there were a lot of factors that were out of her control that affected her services to the clients, at no fault of her own.
I ordered the mussels and they were just alright. It came with no extra sides except a small appetizer of bread. The sauce was overly salty and thin so the mussels didn’t pick up a lot of flavor from that.
I also ordered the fried goat cheese salad and that was very delicious! The fried goat cheese was a perfect pair to the pickled beets and candied walnuts in the salad.
My mother ordered the salmon with a baked potato side and the lemon pepper green beans. Salmon was a little over cooked but the flavor of the glaze was good. The green beans were very overcooked and not worth eating.
The bar tender did Lilly a disservice as she had to rely on them for the wine I ordered. It took over 20 mins to get a single glass of wine and when I ordered a second glass, they took so long to complete that order, I requested it to be canceled and closed out the bill.
Also it seemed there were a lot of new, young staff with no real support from senior waiters to help with bringing food, etc.
Overall, I expected more from this restaurant, especially since we only come once or twice a year to visit family.

I know people think think this place is all put in, but I highly recommend you try the food I had the red, white and blue burger. Yeah, the sauce was all put in, but the burger was fantastically well done. It was good if you know everything was right about it. French fries were a little spicy, but it was also good, highly recommend this place and also learn a little bit of history about the 1822 places to be haunted, but you know, if you believe what you believe, please come check this place out, give it a chance.I know people got mixed feelings about this place , but it’s just one of those places you got a try

What a great spot on the river!
We were warmly greeted by Rick. He informed us of all the incredible menu choices and found us a seat with a view.
The bacon wrapped scallops were delish and the salmon was cooked to perfection.
We will def be back!
