The only disappointment was that scallops were not available that evening, but everything we did have more than made up for it. Broadcloth delivers both in cuisine and atmosphere, and we look forward to returning
From the moment we arrived to a genuine greeting by the hostess until we finished our last bite, the service was outstanding. Orion was our lead server and was terrific. We had at least five staff at our table throughout the evening and everyone worked as a team….the true definition of a well oiled machine.
We had the six course meal and every dish was special. So many different flavors and textures. Although every course was great, the scallops were star of the show!
Broadcloth is truly an outstanding restaurant…..one you need to visit and a place we will definitely be back to for our next special occasion.
I was a very big fan of the chocolate cake and my husband was very partial to the trout.
While it is expensive, I thought the serving sizes for each dish were perfect because we left feeling comfortable, not stuffed.
We were disappointed that they were out of one of the two starters and had no ice tea or decaffeinated coffee. The mountaineer cheese toast was tasty, as was the scallops. The rainbow trout and ribeye were very good. The pork tenderloin (substituted by the restaurant for the pork belly) was extremely dry and even hard to cut. Coke refills were not free at $4 each and, unfortunately, we were served the wrong wine with dinner but it wasn’t worth bringing up. The only other table besides us had order issues with their desserts, as well.
Although I’d read great reviews, I wasn’t that impressed with our evening at this restaurant. Maybe they just had a bad night?
They have a range of tasting options available, we opted for the middle six course and it did not disappoint! Our primary server Nekya was incredibly knowledgeable about every dish and gave great recommendations throughout. We followed the sparkling wine with a cocktail during the first few courses which were all amazing. Particular stand outs were the beet bolognese which is among the most unique and delicious preparation of beets I’ve ever had. We also loved the scallops with ramp purée, which were cooked to perfection and incredibly tender.
The rest of the staff were also incredibly attentive replacing our place settings, serving the courses, and refilling our glasses.
As we continued in the meal we had red wine to pair with the heavier meat dishes which were all also cooked impeccably. The dry aged rib eye was amazing.
The meal also ended on a sweet note with a delicious chocolate crémeux evocative of a deconstructed pot de créme. I also had an espresso-less espreeso martini esque cocktail which the bartender concocted on request and was amazing.
From start to finish this was a wonderful celebration of mid Atlantic cuisine and would highly recommend.
