If you have ever wanted to experience the emotional journey of ordering something called arrabbiata and receiving something that contains the exact heat level of a glass of milk, this dish is your moment. The word arrabbiata literally means angry, and I was absolutely arrabbiata after eating it, mostly because the only thing spicy about this plate was my rising irritation.
This is not an arrabbiata. This is a cream sauce wearing a fake mustache and hoping no one notices. If heavy cream registers as spicy for you, then congratulations, you may find this dish thrilling. For the rest of us, it is like being promised a fiery Italian opera and instead getting a kazoo solo in a quiet room.
The sausage tasted like it had been emotionally defeated long before it reached my plate. The rigatoni was cooked to that special texture known as Why is this happening. And the sauce, oh the sauce, was a lukewarm puddle of dairy based disappointment.
And then there is the aftertaste. If you enjoy the lingering flavor profile of burnt plastic, garlic, cigarette butts, and despair, then by all means, order this dish. It is your personal tasting flight of regret.
By the end, the only thing truly angry was me, wondering how a cream sauce managed to steal the name of a proud, fiery Italian classic and get away with it.
I had the most wonderful dining experience at BRIO! The Italian food was absolutely amazing—every dish was flavorful and perfectly prepared. The ambiance was beautiful, creating the perfect setting for an enjoyable evening. Our server, Julia, was outstanding. She was attentive, friendly, and made sure our meal was flawless from start to finish. Julia truly elevated the experience, and I couldn’t have asked for better service. Highly recommend BRIO and will definitely be returning if we are in the area again.
After being seated as a table of six, we were left for an hour and a half with absolutely no service.
I even understand if there was an accident or unexpected issue. But after 90 minutes of making small talk and smiling at staff, trying to explain to my family why no one had come to our table, it became more than frustrating.
That said, I’m still leaving a four-star review based on the consistently great service and experiences we’ve had in the past. This situation felt out of character, which is why I hope someone will reach out to resolve the matter directly.
