We were here last night. First time ever and I had been looking forward to it. In sum, this was a memorable delicious meal with great service in a fun and high energy atmosphere. We had a great server, excellent table with a Birds Eye view of everything (table 4) and great food. As it was restaurant week there were several options plus the à la carte options. We did the five course menu which consisted of snacks (including a delicious and inventive savory cheesecake), crudo, pierogi, pork main course, and a delicious course of hot baked madeleine cookies for desssert. Yum! Plus the wines and drinks were great and a competent, caring staff really made the night. I’ll be back.

Great experience here for restaurant week. There were a number of options to choose from and different ways to add on more things to customize how much you wanted to eat/how much you wanted to spend. The base restaurant week 3 course menu did not offer much for customization but with one person doing the 5 course and another adding on the full snack set, we all got to try almost all of the menu options.

Most, if not all, of the textures and flavor combinations of the dishes were wonderful. When looking through the pictures to try and decide what my favorites were, it’s very difficult to decide since they were all great and unique in their own way.

I will say that the dishes that exceeded my expectations the most were the Butternut Squash salad, the Madeleine service and the little drink they gave us in the beginning, which was the first time I’ve liked something with Kombucha. I expected most of the dishes to be very good, but even those two dishes I mentioned above that I thought might be more run of the mill turned out to be quite special as well.

Of course being Michelin starred, it was expensive, even with the restaurant week deal, but the food and service is top tier, and the portions are not bad at all. I felt like it was worth it for the experience.

We had a great experience overall, using our Chase Sapphire Reserve credit. My brother ordered the 3 course tasting menu and I ordered à la carte. We were seated promptly upon arrival (5PM reservation) and quickly received our drinks. My brother’s initial courses were served promptly as well, but there was an extended time between his beginning courses and when we received the entrees. They offered us complimentary top ups to our beverages in an effort to make up for the delay. Once the entrees arrived, we thoroughly enjoyed them. Every server was extremely kind, intentional and welcoming. We likely wouldn’t have come without the Chase credit but we are glad we had the experience.

I already can’t wait to go back. The service from the moment you walk in is impeccable. Staff are very nice and attentive. I rarely even saw my glass of water empty or my other beverages. I recommend doing one of the tasting menus and adding the full snack assortment. Really worth it to try all those delicious small bites. I also think they may have the best espresso martini in DC.

We had a fantastic dinner at Bresca – and I can only highly recommend it. The food is exquisite, superbly presented, and there’s quantity – we were full at the end and had to take some of the extra pastries home. Service was very kind and I spent a very special, impromptu birthday dinner. The restaurant in itself is beautifully decorated. One of the best I’ve been to in the U.S.!

I find Bresca to be probably DCs top fine dining restaurant for broad appeal: meaning it’s not too stuffy but still feels special, and the food threads this fine line between being familiar yet still new and extremely flavorful.

It’s loosely French with a focus on local ingredients and what I would guess is maybe new scandi influence. So it’s often the traditional “meat and brown sauce” while that meat is perfectly cooked and the sauce is loaded with delicious flavors. My sauce du jour tasted like simmered down French onion soup – sweet and savory – I think they called it fudge.

While not cheap, the price also feels more worthwhile than many DC fine dining options. I don’t feel the restaurant is in any way gauging for the sake of it or living off its reputation. This recent visit was my first nor will it be my last

I had a great experience dining at Bresca! Our service was fantastic contrary to some other reviews. The food was soooo delicious. We did the 4 course tasting menu and everything was amazing. Our favorites were the summer salad and the “snacks” they served. Would absolutely recommend!!

We enjoyed the tasting menu at Bresca, with creative dishes and beautiful plating. Would return again. In particular, the pairings, sauces, and creative combinations were enjoyable. A good environment for groups, we found it not the most intimate of settings, but fun for a buzzy evening with delightful talented staff who create thoughtful experiences and an enjoyable meal.

Went with my friends for restaurant week and had an excellent time! Every dish was novel, fun, and incredibly delicious. I think the lamb course was my favorite, it was served with several sauces and garnishes that made every bite different and delicious. The service was incredible as well, so kind and courteous and fun! Will be going back at some point, hopefully!
