this is possibly the best Polish food store in the area. (this is not a restaurant, no indoor seating is available, it’s a store. if you want a restaurant, go to Pastrami Bistro next door, it’s owned by the same people) food is great, plenty of options, nutritious foods and dinners, and quite friendly staff. make sure you check out the dinner, meats, bread/cheese, self serve and pastry sections where you can order however much you need for solid prices. some cons are that the place is pretty tight, and people who do not speak the language may find it harder to find things (not talking from experience) but if you’re not really bothered by this then by all means, pay a visit here

This is a grocery store with a deli counter, so you won’t find seating options available. However, their deli section is anywhere from $2-3 for a 16 oz soup and $4-6 for a 32 oz soup. Their kiełbasy or kabanosy are ok but they have a huge selection. You can find anything from yogurts to smoked mackerel to cheese to ready to cook dinners to tea, bread, OTC meds, and more.

I absolutely love Bratek Deli! This hidden gem in Garfield, New Jersey, is my go-to spot for authentic Polish food and more. Polish store, huge selection of goods, fresh produce, very tasty bread, I also took jellied salmon, dumplings with potatoes, they were like homemade. Sweet pastries are very tasty. I liked everything I bought here, both the quality and taste were excellent, the prices are a little higher, but we did not regret visiting here. This store opens at 6am, which is very convenient.

We went in to ask for a donate for our school international night event and Ms. Anna who was amazing but went above and beyond for our school and donated so much food for our kids and the parents. The amount of trays was donated was a big WOW. Thank you so much Anna. It meant the world to us for everything you have done for our school. It will never go unnoticed. Polish cuisine is famous for its pierogi. I’ve bought frozen ones several times and never had any problems. The last time I bought pierogi with meat, I was very disappointed. After two minutes in boiling water, the dough had fallen apart and the meat had come loose. Don’t think I can’t cook pierogi. I’m 70 years old and I love them and know how to make them. I’m no longer a Bratek customer, and I don’t recommend it.

So disappointed, I used to make this my weekly shopping place, since the opening of the store. Hot food was a once-a-week dinner go to for late nights, and service was always welcoming and friendly. Last night I came in after work and was denied service at the deli counter 40 minutes before closing by some Ukrainian guy, saying he cleaned up for the night. If the store hours are until 9 pm, workers should not be cleaning and denying service until 9 p.m. sharp. This is not the first time this guy has denied me service, but I didn’t write anything till now, because this is getting ridiculous. Hot food was also delicious but they switched out the polish chefs, and now it is mediocre at best. So disappointed and will be telling others not to come here from now on. Polish store treating polish customers poorly, would give 0 stars if I could.
