The food and service are excellent, but for the price I thought the table and chairs were substandard. Chairs are light weight like lawn chairs, table was wobbly. Decor is nice, fresh roses, white linen, nicely dressed wait staff, but windows near ceiling very dirty. Music too loud. Would have preferred either French vocalist at lower volume or instrumental at lower volume. However I think Julia Child would approve the cuisine.

You won’t find a higher end stakehouse in Columbia. The chef truly understands French cuisine, and chef’s decadent sauces speak to a well developed palate. Although the food was French through and through, the portions were American-sized. Plating had great attention to detail.

The Front Desk staff sends guests here quite often and they rave about it! This restaurant is great for business associates who are new to the Columbia area. Our Front desk associates have also visited Brasserie as well and absolutely love it! Keep it up guys! Great job!

We just finished our meal at the Brasserie and cannot say enough about the experience! It all started with our server and host, who was extremely cordial and attentive, but he also had a fun and inviting personality which put a bow around the entire evening. It’s a Thursday evening, so no crowd to speak of and we were seated immediately. An amuse-bouche of crab salad deviled egg was brought shortly after being seated. This grabbed our attention as the flavor was terrific! We were accommodated with drinks to our liking, including a wine that was not on the menu. Our appetizer was crab cake with remoulade: more like two towers of crab toasted perfectly on both sides with an accompaniment of remoulade sauce that was not at all overpowering and blended its flavor well with the crab and salad. My wife ordered a Caesar Salad with her meal, which she seemed to enjoy quite a bit, and I ordered a warm spinach salad with a soft egg and citrus wedges, as recommended by our waiter and host. Such a different flavor from any salad I have had before! It was unexpectedly exactly what I wanted. Next, our steaks were brought out, cooked to perfection. Mine was the 14 oz rib eye and wild mushroom risotto and my wife ordered the steak with shrimp scampi and loaded potato croquet. There was a slight mix-up on my wife’s dish, but it was immediately remedied by both our server and the kitchen which only made us enjoy our experience that much more! The steaks were delicious: 28 day aged with a nice pairing of a sauce over the top, roasted head of garlic and herb butter. The risotto, however, was the shining star. I’m not sure how it was prepared, but it was deliciously earthy, creamy, and cheesy, but still not dense; I could have eaten a literal bowl of this stuff! My wife was raving about her steak – she could almost cut it with a fork and it melted in your mouth. The potato croquet was exceptional as well, and my wife loved it, but it was a little heavy for my taste (not a negative, just my personal palate). Again, the service provided at the Brasserie was over the top in the best possible way. The right mix of formal service with a little flair of personal touch. His recommendations were spot on and and my wife and I are already looking forward to our next visit so we can sample some more of the chef’s creations. Thank you for a wonderful night!

Service was ok, but the food and the value brought the stars down for me. Maybe i just didn’t catch on their best night, or my expectations for their prices were set too high.

If it’s valentines day don’t bother going expecting to be able to order what you would like to have. Instead they bring you a menu with only their Valentines special and upon request , would not bring the other menu. So you get to pay $100 for dried out cheese, some sort of nasty pink adult beverage, and for me dessert that I did not want or need. The meat was also very fatty. A much better experience would be CC Broiler if you want fancy or other wise, just go to Texas Roadhouse or G&D.

Took my wife to Brasserie and was very disappointed It was bad enough we had to wait 20 Min. for waiter to take our order, it was worse he had a bad cold (THAT HE ADMITTED TO) AND SNEEZED ON OUR TABLE!!! The utensils were dirty, we waited 35 min. to get served and they screwed our order up and they never came back to our table to refill water or ask if we wanted another drink. I do not mind paying more for good food and service but got neither there! .

Our service was not great, and I tried the 28 day dry aged steak and was very disappointed. It did not have much flavor, was tuff and over cooked. I normally would have sent it back but it took a long time to get our food and my family was ready to eat. We were all very hungry and I was afraid at how slow our waiter was that my family would be done eating by the time I would get my food. Besides, it’s hard to tell someone the steak was over cooked when they never came by to check on us until halfway through our meal. Needless to say half of my steak was left on the plate. Not sure if I’ll go back.

We’re unimpressed with this restaurant. I summarize our experience with “needs A1.” We won’t return. We each ordered a ribeye but the gnocchi (while tasty) was the best food either of us received; that’s disappointing when calling yourself a steakhouse. The resturant has a fun decor but it just seems like the place where college kids come to get engaged – over a mediocre steak and a bottle of MacMurray (which I like). Another note – the wine list includes few wines appropriate for steak (they had one cab sav).
