I stopped by 0n 1/10/2026. Saturday evening. Bought a pound of pulled pork. And got home and had a pound of chopped minced pork. I should have checked. When I seen the young African American man with a red hoodie on just chopping away. This is the second time I have gotten a bad deal. I don’t know what’s going on. The guy that took my order was polite. The servers are always great. But I don’t see myself going back there. I been going there for a few years now. Never had a problem when the older guy and wife are working or were working. I’m not blaming the younger guy. But to buy a pound of meat minced up so bad. Is a bad deal.

Awesome place to eat with a lot of history. Opened in 1923 so over 100yrs of serving. The BBQ is some of the best I’ve eaten, all in all a definite stop on a trip

This place was great. It was almost the exact same as it was last time I was here in 1985. Food was amazing. Service was excellent.

Interesting historic restaurant featured in the film “Walk The Line.” Has decent traditional southern fare, a 95+ year history, and great service! Worth visiting if you’re passing through rural areas like Mason, TN.

Passing through on our way to Memphis. Loved the neon sign and thought we had to try it. We got there 30 minutes before closing on a Friday night so they were sold out of ribs which was disappointing but understandable.

Service was friendly and good. Portions were good however the chopped pork was mediocre and the meat could not stand on its own as it needed sauce for any flavor.

The baked beans were quite good but the homemade cole slaw’s texture was too fine for my preferences.

Interesting charm and ambiance and I loved the character and its 101 year old history. I just wished the meat was as good as my expectations.

Definitely an old school bbq restaurant. Opened in 1923. Still has the lunch counter with the pedestal stools. Today was my 2nd visit so I had the ribs. They come as a dry rub and you have choice of three levels of bbq sauce to customize the flavor. Don’t eat too much as they have a large selection of deserts. I picked the strawberry cheesecake and it got eaten without a photo. Great service by Danielle today.
Check out the parking lot, that many pickup trucks can’t be wrong.
EDIT: came back again, got the combo plate and was really happy. Tested the medium sauce and it was pretty spicy. Coconut cake was a good follow up. Great service by Kenzie.
EDIT # 2. Came back on a Friday and selected the Fried Catfish and surprise, Danielle was my waitress again. My partner got the Chicken Salad which was far more than she could eat. And plenty of Sweet Tea. Mmmm

We have been traveling cross country and we’re not planning on stopping here, but so glad it showed up for us as an option.

Absolutely delicious burger, made to perfection and please do yourself a favor and order the cheesecake as dessert – you won’t regret it!

Perfectly acceptable bbq. Seemed a little mild on the smoke. The mild sauce was very smoky. This helped a little. Add some hot sauce for heat and it was pretty good. The french fries were just standard food service. The slaw was a little strange. It may have been good on a sandwich. It was not a good side dish.
