I live in Morton Grove, and we don’t have any good Chinese restaurants near me, in my opinion. I am happy to discover Bowl of Fortune in the Park to Shop Supermarket. My friend and I have been going to them once a week since they opened. The first time we were there, we ordered Beef Noodle Soup, which was very good. The second time we were there, we ordered Fried rice and Boiled Beef in Spicy Szechuan Sauce. Just the other day, we went back again. I ordered Boiled Beef in Spicy Szechuan Sauce again, and my friend ordered Eggplant in Garlic Sauce. The portion was good. Each time we were there, I took our leftovers home and enjoyed the delicious meal the next day again. I am planning on trying different dishes on their menu. This restaurant, located in a food court, offers great quality food that rivals a brick-and-mortar restaurant. It is a hidden gem.

I have not had such delicious Chinese in the supermarket food court. I ordered Mushu Pork with Bun, which has great flavor. Shared with my wife, and it is the perfect amount of food. They also make Homemade Beijing Yogurt, which, according to my wife, is the same old Beijing flavor as 40+ years ago. First time for me, which is sweeter than how I used to compare to a yogurt drink from the store. Excellent service, they explained the menu, brought food to your table, and checked on you occasionally. Which makes the food court experience closer to a restaurant. Mark to shop supermarkets made a great choice to have them, I would come here more, and it’s the kind of food that I would bring my non-Chinese friends to introduce Chinese food.

Incredible Szechuan food from an unassuming grocery store food court. What a gem of a find, so close to home! We usually have to travel far for Chinese food this good. Will definitely be regulars.

Kind of expensive. Cabbage with a few drops of bacon $16.. two small spicy hotpot fish didn’t taste so fresh sliced into 4 filets $50. Overall atmosphere is good and clean and plates are brought out by robots first before the server put them on the table. Overall probably would go back again but not ordering those two items.

Had a good experience here. I ordered the wrong item and the staff brought out what I had wanted quickly with no fuss. Food was nicely seasoned not over seasoned and was not overly greasy and tasted pleasantly homemade. The mushu pork had a great blend of pork and vegetables and was very tender. The fried tofu with salted egg was light, fluffy, and delicious. Portions were huge and had tons of leftovers. Recommend if you are in it for the food and not the setting (food court). They also deliver.

In an area dominated by chinese korean cuisine, this place delivers what we’ve been looking for- authentic sichuan, and most likely the best chinese we’ll find outside chinatown. It’s a new addition to a quiet food court, and we learned their main restaurant in wheeling is new as well. Don’t sleep on this place- the express location executes at a restaurant level and blew away our expectations. Nice staff. We hope to be back many times

The best Chinese type food !! Actually tastes homemade, large portions, not drenched in that gross sauce that so many places use. Seriously try this place, you will wish you had it sooner. Check out the photos I added

This is my favorite food court in Chicago but quite a few places failed in this exact stall. We wanted to try something different from the usual dishes and asked for recommendations. We got the spicy sour pickle fish soup (sounds strange if you don’t know it but it’s not weird at all). It was outstanding. It’s a savory and rich broth with perfectly cooked tender fish (warning: it’s spicy). The homemade dumplings in sauce were well seasoned inside and out. The salted egg tofu was crispy and rich (but you have to like salted egg flavor). I can’t wait to come back and try more dishes. This restaurant is going to make it and maybe even revive this overlooked food court.
